This lightweight, compact, and durable radio comes packed with essential features, like NOAA weather channels and alerts, and iVOX/VOX hands- free communication, so it’s easy to stay in touch – and stay safe – no matter what your situation. The T260 is available in a twin-pack or a triple-pack. How far can I expect my radios to communicate? The communication range quoted is calculated based on an unobstructed line of sight test under optimum conditions. Actual range will vary depending on terrain and conditions and is often less than the maximum possible. Your actual range will be limited by several factors including, but not limited to terrain, weather conditions, electromagnetic interference and obstructions.

  • Works well and had decent range
Good quality radios. I've used it in the mountains and on vacations without much issues. Just make sure to check the range and how far your users will be from each other. Also be sure to choose a frequency no one else is on

  • Loud and Clear
Have had these radios for several years now and they work great. Been in pouring down rain to temperatures in to the triple digits. They have been dropped, abused and neglected and they still keep working. Would not trust any other brand or style, Not only that but you can hear the other end loud and clear The chargeable batteries are ok and it does take some time to charge them (Overnight) and they do not last as long as alkaline batteries. It is very easy to change channels and subchannels and the Weather Alert System works great. Loud and Clear. ... show more

  • Functional, but very slow charging
I purchased these for outdoor use, primarily upland hunting, and wanted a radio to which I could attach an extended mic. Pros: *The radio's fit and finish are excellent. *Volume and clarity are good *Standard FRS radio programming menu *Bar on bottom of radio allows for hanging antenna down from your pack or harness, but you need to supply the connector. Cons: *The charging of the provided, removable battery packs via the micro USB chargers (two are provided) is glacial. Often leaving a partially charged radio plugged in overnight will not result in a full charge in the morning. Fortunately, you can replace the battery packs with AA batteries. *The screen is flush with the housing and is subject to scratching. I solved this using a generic screen protector cut to fit. *The belt clip is easy to remove, but is not very strong and will release the radio from your belt, etc., with a little pressure. *The option of attaching an extended mic to the radio turned out not to be advantageous, mainly because the Motorola extended mics are heavy and fiddly to connect. One I purchased functioned intermittedly. Other: *It would be nice to have the option to directly attach a carabiner to the radio, or have a carabiner clip integrated into the radio, like a Rocky Talkie. I have purchased a dog controller pouch from Final Rise to address this. It is designed to attach to upland vests and carries the radio nicely. *I wrote my name and phone number on each radio. That paid off recently when a unit fell of my belt and was found by a person living in the area. *Blaze orange would be a better housing color for radios and other outdoor electronics. I have spent hours looking for missing dog controllers (found) and camouflage radios (still out there). An inelegant solution is to attach orange or pink flagging tape to the radio to make it easier to pickup visually. ... show more

  • Love these radios.
We used on a cruise and they worked pretty well to keep everyone connected. Cheaper to buy these than sign up for the cruise wi-fi/texting plans and now have them for later. Our last talk about 250 radios lasted about 15 years. Pushed limits when inside cabin to far ends of ship (staticy or no signal) and need to investigate lock mode to keep buttons from accidental bumps. The rechargable battery packs that came with them were adequate since they were new but may prefer higher capacity rechargable AA's in future. ... show more

  • Does the Job, Even in Cruise Ship
We got the walkie talkies to keep track of or kids on our cruise Wonder of the Seas. We were on the fence about getting these because of misleading reviews on here but, in our experience, these worked great. Our cabin was on the 7th deck about mid ship and we could communicate from the pool deck 15 no problem. We started experiencing problems in comms when we were far aft like in the buffet and the others were in the room. On lower decks we also had a bit more restriction in distance. Generally we were always able to communicate within 4 decks and the sets not as far apart from each other as possible, which you won’t be doing much. Anyway, they work, did there job, I recommend. ... show more

  • Good handsets but the battery is terrible!
Pros - Nice form factor and rugged. Easy to program and operate. Can operate on 3-AA batteries Cons - Provided battery is horrible and only lasts a few hours. If you leave them fully charged and off, they will be down to 1 bar within a few days. Which means you need to leave them on the charger while they not in use. Not very practical for storing in the car for emergencies etc. Range is also pretty minimal (1-2 miles) in normal operating conditions like the city or forested areas. Overall not a bad product but, for the price you would think they would come with a better set of NIMH batteries. Fortunately, you can replace the battery with some aftermarket Eneloop rechargeables and that eliminates the problem. ... show more

  • Great Value, Great Range and clarity
I have been waiting a while to purchase these walkie talkies as I wanted to purchase the Motorola as htey are known for their range and quality, but the price was always too expensive for me. This kit on Amazon included 3 walkie talkies and was an excellent value per unit. The kit includes rechargeable batteries, charging cables, belt clips and the units themselves. There is nothing else you need, unless you want to add a headset to go handsfree. We use these regularly when riding our ATVs to stay connected to the family ... show more

  • set up is tricky for a beginner but it's worth it
i have never used a walkie-takie before, i'm glad i read the instructions, now i know how to set up the channels & interference codes, switching and choosing weather channels. My mom tried whispering through the T26TP, it wouldn't pick up on Level 1 but once the sensitivity was increased to Level 3 (max) it did. I tried testing the distance in my residential area and it reached about 1 mile, just below that distance. iVOX feature is a little slower than just simply pressing the PTT (Push To Talk) button. It takes 12 hrs to fully charge each unit, and we haven't had to charge it since I purchased it (about 1 wk ago) however we don't use it very frequently or for extended period of time. they really are small & protable and come with a belt clip. Overall i am very pleased with my purchase. we use it mainly to communicate with each other in our property. Also it is not waterproof according to the instructions, but it is water resistant. I haven't tested this feature. ... show more
