  • Awesome budget smartphone
Color: Midnight Blue
I'm super happy I took a chance on this purchase, it's exactly what I needed in a travel/backup phone - BUT it might not be what YOU need. Read reviews like mine and the product description before buying. If you're okay with putting a small amount of effort in, you have a compatible carrier, and it has the features you need, this is a fantastic option for a budget phone. Pros: - Super cost effective. You can have a perfectly decent smartphone up and running, plus purchasing accessories like a case, for less than $250. - It doesn't work with all US carriers, something you do need to be aware of if you're trying to replace your current phone and want to keep your number, but setting it up as a new line with a Mint Mobile e-sim was a breeze. - Yes, it's e-sim compatible. At least the model I received is e-sim compatible, and like some reviewers have mentioned, the "dual sim" feature on mine is one physical sim and one e-sim. (The reviews being so mixed on this point might reflect multiple models, some which might not support e-sim?) Being able to use e-sims was my biggest need, and I was going to return it if it didn't have e-sim functionality. Things I personally liked but you might not: - It is an international model, like it says in the title (hence not working with all US carriers, even though it's unlocked) and comes with a European USB charging plug and a little adapter for American outlets. Obviously you can use whatever USB charger you want, but since I actually want to use it for travel in Europe, a European charging plug was a plus for me. - It doesn't come with a case and screen protector, you're going to have to get those separately. I was glad it didn't, because it's going in a wallet case anyhow, and the wallet case I bought to go with it comes with a screen protector. Nothing went to waste. - Maybe if you're a phone snob you won't like the screen size/resolution/camera/etc, but I don't see anything wrong with it and I don't think the average joe would either. It's a smartphone. It does smartphone things. It's less than $200. Why are you complaining? Cons: - It needs a lot of software updates to be brought up to date, which is a bit annoying. But considering that you can still use the phone while it's updating, this isn't a big gripe. - Mine didn't come with a manual that includes English. Now, it really it only takes a moment to find the English version on google if you want - I found it while doing research on the phone before buying it - or you could google translate it, or you can do what I did and ignore the manual entirely because initial setup is that easy. That was another non-issue for me in the end. ... show more

  • Great phone at a great price!
Color: Glacier Blue
Received this phone brand new in sealed box very quickly! 2 day shipping and received in perfect condition. Mine has 2 physical sims and it worked fine with my T-Mobile account (I am in Arizona, USA). The 2nd sim spot is a hybrid slot that also can alternatively hold a SD card. I do not know if an esim can be set up on this, although the lady at my T-mobile store, where I got the new physical sim card, said that it could be set up with an esim. I do not know how that works. When I first started it up with the new sim card it gave me a message that some functionality may not be available with this version. However, it gave me a link that showed how to change the settings and enable text and mms messaging to be full featured. It was easy and everything works perfectly. Mine also came with a clear case and a U.S. charger plug & cable. It updated to Android 14 and is working fine. I don't ever notice much difference between the Android versions anyways. Will it update to 15? I don't know and ignorance is bliss. I do not know how I would ever justify paying $600+ on a phone when an excellent phone like this is available for $170. ... show more

  • Works on Boost Mobile AT&T - EDIT - only 99% of the time
Color: Midnight Blue
I can confirm that it works on Boost Mobile's AT&T Network in the US... [99% of the time]*** EDIT after 2 months of use. People were randomly not receiving SMS messages from me even though the phone showed that they were successfully sent. About 1 in 20 messages would show as sent but never get received by the other person. I made sure everything was updated, upgraded to Android 14, checked the APN settings a million times, but the issue persisted whether I had a weak/strong cell connection or on wifi. I switched over to RCS chats with as many people as possible, but iPhone users would occasionally miss a message from me. I finally called Boost Mobile and they said the phone is not compatible with their network. I checked the IMEI number online and it shows that it is compatible with GSM for T-Mobile networks but NOT certified for GSM with AT&T networks. *** The size is great. I have been searching long and hard for a phone that would fit in my pocket. I do not know why everyone wants a tablet-sized phone these days! Mine came with a nice thin protective case and a European charger with a Europe-US power adapter. I just tucked those away into my box of international travel stuff for future business trips since I have half a dozen USB adapters anyway. My only complaint is that this has weaker cell reception than my Moto G Play 2023. I lose signal in buildings where my Moto G Play 2023 would still be hanging on to a bar or two. I decided to disable the 5G by dialing *#*#4636#*#* and changed the preferred network to LTE/GSM/WCDMA (PRL). The mobile data had a _severe_ latency problem when connected to a _weak_ 5G signal. Instead of resorting to a 4G LTE connection, it struggled and waited to transfer data over 5G and took forever to open web pages, etc. Once I set LTE as the preferred network, everything was much faster. The mobile data was fine with a strong 5G connection outisde, but once you went in a building and had a weaker 5G signal, you could forget it. I did run an Ookla speedtest with the weak 5G and after waiting several minutes for the site to load, I got about 15MB/s. I switched to 4G and got about the same speed but didn't have to wait NEARLY as long for the website to load or for the test to start. It took a few days for me to get used to have a fingerprint scanner on the power button instead of on the M logo on the back of the phone, but it works about as well as the fingerprint scanners I've had on my other Motorola phones. ... show more
