  • Moto G phones are affordable and usually easy to switch out....
Arrived overnight which I was surprised and pleased about. I did not realize it was a little smaller than my 2022 Moto G Stylus but not by too much. This is my second Moto G Stylus and I am really a fan of this brand of phones. I just don't see any point to buying such expensive phones. The Moto G phones are reasonably priced and work really well. I've tried a variety of phones through many years. IF you are someone who doesn't feel the need to impress people with an insanely expensive phone then the Moto G stylus is a great phone for you. I think my first phone was a Moto G Power but now I'm sticking with the Stylus as it works tremendously well for me. It's been hugely durable for me because I put it in a good protective case. I have dropped my phone multiple times in the house, the car and a few times outside. Thank goodness it's never stopped working and I'm thrilled that it's held up for me. The battery life was very good for quite a while. But considering I bought this as a renewed phone a few years ago and use it throughout the day every day. So in the last four months of my 2022 phone it stopped holding a charge for more than a few hours. But I want to point out that I started buying renewed phones as it saved me money and they worked great. Even a brand new Moto G stylus is well priced. They have always been reliable and storage capacity has never been an issue (unless I go on a pet photo binge ;) which is often). Then I buy some additional storage. You can bypass the info below IF you don't have AT&T: By Monday I wasn't able to get my new Moto G phone to completely switch over all my stuff from the old phone today because it would not accept my current nano SIM card. AT&T provided zero help over the phone and actually told me I could get a new SIM card at THE DOLLAR TREE!! Which I stupidly went to and was told they don't sell that item. Told me that I will have to buy one which rather ticked me off considering I'm on a plan that I paid for 12 months up front. I made another trip to AT&T on Tuesday and told the tech what I was experiencing and needed a new nano card. The tech pulled the nano card out of my current phone and put it back in the new phone. He did a few things on the screen and ignored answering my questions. Handed me my phone and said it was working now. He couldn't be bothered to explain to me why the phone kept messaging that the SIM card was not current. I was a little confused as I'm not at all knowledgeable on phone technology. I asked another question about completing the conversion and the tech shrugged and told me it's a self help situation. WOW so apparently when you buy your phone elsewhere you get bare bones help from AT&T. So be prepared if you end up having this issue. It could be possible that I placed the sim card into the phone backwards but I was very careful with it. Anyway by Wednesday I replaced the broken C charger at a nearby store and FINALLY completed the conversion! Hallelujah! I hope I can prevent others from having this type of delay in converting the files into the new phone. The phone is working well as expected but AT&T greatly disappointed me this time around. The phone service has been constant and that's why I stay. Moto phones are the best way to have a good reliable phone. Make sure you have a good quality C charger cord for charging. ... show more

  • Solid mid-range, quality refurbishment, GREAT battery life
IT IS UNLOCKED! When you first turn it on, it will seem like it is locked down to AT&T. It is not. Go through the initial setup and ignore when it tells you to insert your sim card. Then, put the sim card in AFTER the initial setup. The phone is delivered with a note explaining this. It will come with some AT&T software and you will see an AT&T splash screen every time you restart, but your sim card will work fine and you can disable/uninstall that software. I saw some reviews complaining about it supposedly not being unlocked, so it seemed important to address The phone arrived quickly and in good condition. No visible cracks, scratches, dents, anything Battery is in good health, and easily lasts the entire day with moderate use. I only charged it to 80% and with about 5 hours of active use today with various tasks (watching videos/movies/tv, video calls, texting, reading, music, navigation, some light gaming, and a lot of downloading) it is sitting at 47%. The average person uses their phone for about 4.5-5 hours a day. That is 33% discharge for a full day's use. There are a couple overcharge protection features which I find quite cool as a tech nerd, but others may find annoying. They can both be easily turned off (but I would advice against that because they really do help preserve your battery's health. Just my two cents) Using the phone, it feels smooth and responsive. I never feel like I'm having to wait for something to load or register my input. It did shove a bit of bloatware on me (even beyond the AT&T stuff), but it was all easily uninstalled/disabled. The screen is very good looking. Great color depth, plenty bright, and it's not a dust/fingerprint magnet! The microphone and speakers are both decent. Nothing mind blowing, but it doesn't sound horrible. Same goes for the cameras. The plastic frame doesn't evoke the kind of "premium" feel that a metal one would, but this isn't a flagship phone and it seems durable. The buttons all feel sturdy and have good travel. I do quite like the pleather back! I've had zero connectivity issues with wi-fi, bluetooth, cell service/data, and NFC. I really like the stylus, even if it's just a simple capacitive one and not a fancy active stylus. It adds some good functionality and it's quite intuitive to use. I particularly enjoy the handwriting calculator, it is surprisingly versatile. Overall, this phone is a joy to use and a much appreciated upgrade from my old one. And a steal for the price! Plus it still has a headphone jack? In 2024? LOVE Pros: - Snappy and responsive - GREAT battery life - Beautiful bright display - Built-in stylus - Headphone jack - Expandable storage Cons: - Meh cameras - Only 3 years of security updates - No buttons on the stylus - IP52 rating means you have to be a bit more careful around water - Not super powerful, may not be suitable for heavy gaming It's a very solid, affordable, mid-range phone, and I'm glad I bought it! But don't expect it to knock your socks off (except for the battery life, that's pretty crazy) ... show more

  • Not Truly Unlocked
This phone is sold as unlocked, and it will work when you put in your SIM card, but beware, the phone is not truly unlocked. My phone came installed with software that cannot be removed, called, "Telecoms Client". This means the phone is a managed device, like a company phone your job might give you. This means you will not have admin level access to your phone, and there is an unknown 3rd party that can track your phone, or even wipe all the data from it if they wanted to. There is no way to get this software removed by yourself. You would need the previous owner's administrator to remove this software. Don't waste your money and risk your security with this phone. However, the phone did seem really nice if it weren't for this security concern. It would be a good buy if you get it brand new from Motorola. ... show more
