  • Awesome phone
Color: Ink Blue
Best phone for the money, hands down! I lost my other Moto G, ( Of course I found it after I received this one!) This phone has ample memory, is expandable, and just runs great. No issues. I have lots of apps on iot, and it never slows down. I've used every phone out there, except for Apple; This is clearly the best one, for reliability, speed, ease of use. Recommend a good otter case if you drop yours like I do, a couple of times a week lol For the money, it's a great but and I will replace it with another if it ever dies. ... show more

  • What a great phone.
I had a moto G fast with 32 gigs of memory and the phone worked for a good 2.5 years until the memory got almost full and my apps would not work well. When I looked for a new phone I went with moto again and got the moto 5G with 128 gigs of memory. Now, this phone is plenty fast and there are no issues with the memory as of yet. The interface with my new phone and my old phone was very simple and easy. You just have to make sure that you have a cable that can connect both phones so that the transfer goes well and easy. At least that is what I did. Maybe someone else has a better way to do it. When you get the questions during the transfer make sure you read them well and select the proper answer otherwise, you will have a few issues. Don't be hasty on selection your answers. I like this phone because it has a fingerprint recognition. I did not do the face recognition because I only like a few steps on my phone. I was also able to do a pass number and I go between the two. It is a good thing because while doing house repairs the finger I used for fingerprint recognition got a bit damaged so I had to sign in with my pass number. Overall the interaction and transfer between phones was easy. I think it will be the same with other phones as well. So far my new phone is working great. I don't have any issues. I still have my old phone and I only use it for reference. Highly recommend this phone to anyone looking for a low budget phone with great features. ... show more

  • Solid phone, everything works, great battery
Color: Ink Blue
Note that I don't have a use for NFC, which I *think* it doesn't have, and I don't use facial recognition, so I can't speak to that. And I don't play games on it. But everything I have used works great. Besides working fine, what else is there to say? First, the battery life is great -- I put it on a shelf to just be an alarm clock for 24 hours, and it used about 15% of the battery. Even with some web browsing and a lot of podcast listening during the day, I have never seen the battery below 45%, charging it once a day. The screen is bright and clear and big (for the phone's size), with refresh rate of 60Hz normally and 120Hz while scrolling (you can tell w/developer tools). There are better phone screens, but I never find myself wishing it were better. There is a black dot where the selfie camera is, but that's the price you pay for a wall-to-wall screen. The rear camera is 48M pixels, like the new Google Pixel phones. I don't know if it's actually as good, but if I want to do art photography, I don't use a phone. It has a separate macro lens that you can select easily with the camera app, and I have never had trouble getting a sharp photo of anything, yet. Like the screen, I've never wished it was better. The built-in speakers are unexpectedly good: there's one at each end, and, yeah, they do stereo as well as you can expect for speakers 4" apart, I guess, but the sound quality and volume are significantly better than typical for reasonably-priced phones. The cell reception is better than the Pixel phones I've used, but, surprisingly, not as good as some Samsungs (cell reception used to be a real strong point for Moto). Unlike most top-tier phones, it has an SD card holder (as well as a physical micro-SIM holder). So you can add another half a terabyte (512GB) of storage for $20, if you like. Eat your heart out, iPhone users. According to Moto, it can take up to 1 TB (1024 GB). TL/DR: I would say this phone does everything well (of the things it does), without doing anything brilliantly, except battery life. For its middle-of-the road price, it's a VERY good choice. ... show more

  • Surprisingly pleased. At first I thought this doesn't have thumb print, but does.
Color: Ink Blue
Solid phone, camera is decent. The only time I've noticed the 1600x720p screen having a issue is when I'm watching youtube videos. If you go on Netflix or another streaming app it look absolutely fine. I recently had a big issue with the company I was with changing prices. So I started doing some research, and started looking into unlocked phones. They seem to be somewhat older cellphones and pricier than usual. This Motorola is somewhat of a downgrade from the phone I had. Biggest difference being previous phone had a 1080p screen, gorilla glass, and crazy stupid fast charging. But, I couldn't change to a different cell company due to the android I had was not unlocked. That's what brought me here. I've had this phone for about a week, and I'm happy with it. I had a Motorola cell like 5-6 years ago, and one of my favorite features is the karate chop flashlight feature. Twist camera feature is handy too. It's nice to have that back again. I took some pictures of plants. The 48MP camera pics looked really good to me. I grew up on tube TV's, and VHS tapes, so the barley noticeable lower resolution screen doesn't bother me at all. If your a cell phone connoisseur this might not be the best phone for you. For the price though and the freedom to pretty much chose any company you want, I think this phone is a great deal. Oh, and the new cell phone company was able to activate this phone right away zero issues. I paid full price for a new one, but at the time I'm typing this there's a used one on here for $100. I wish I would've snatched that. Do your homework and check all the specs. ... show more

  • My third Moto, and they just keep getting better
I've had this phone about a week now, and I couldn't be happier with it. It does everything I need it to do, it's plenty fast, has a great camera, screen, and sound, etc. Just about everything automagically transferred from my Moto G Power in less than an hour. The only thing that drives me crazy is all of the bloatware that winds up getting installed that I have to turn around and remove or disable, but maybe that's the norm now, I don't know. This time at least it told me what it was going to do before it did it so I wrote everything down. That made it a lot easier to go in and remove it all. I'm on Mint Mobile, which I've also been really happy with, and it came right up. It looks like this phone is also slated to get Android 14 when it comes out. Also, I turned off Wi-Fi and immediately showed 5G+ so I decided to run a speed test. Holy moly! 450 mb down, 30 up, and that's just sitting indoors. I have never owned anything that came even remotely close to that so that was really surprising. LTE for me was always around 40 or 50 meg. The other thing that's pretty cool is the fingerprint reader being built into the power button. The only potential downside, like many Moto phones, is no NFC. It's no big deal for me but it might be for some. And as many others have stated, no charger. I probably have a half a dozen 10 watt bricks so again, no biggie. I would not have paid retail for this phone, but the current sales are well under that and I think that makes it a pretty good deal. ... show more

  • Don't waste your time or money purchasing this phone. It is a GIANT Headache!
Color: Ink Blue
This phone being a complete disappointment since day 1 is an understatement. If you are looking for a headache that has a constant and continuous myriad of issues then go ahead and purchase this phone but dont say I didn't warn you. Every time I use this phone whether to take a photo, play a game, make a video call, the apps I am using and those operating in the background (system apps and others) crash. Don't take this on a once in a lifetime trip like I did. I tried to take in the moment photos and the camera app would freeze then crash missing the object I wanted to capture. Some app crashes Every. Single. Time. I use the camera. Without fail. Every time! Other apps like PoGo won't even open on the phone without wifi and then it will just crash. There are pre-loaded apps like entertainment and shopping that also crash so I finally deleted them but they were replaced by other system apps crashing. Please look elsewhere if you are looking for something that actually works and wont be a giant headache. If I could give it negative stars I would. What a bad decision I made, hopefully you will take this public service announcement and look elsewhere. Oh, I also forgot to mention Motorola's service is a joke. You contact them via facebook messenger and you chat with a virtual ai assistant. It just throws meaningless articles at you that contains advice that doesn't work. Please don't walk RUN as far away from Motorola as you can! ... show more

  • Moto G 5G 2023: love this phone!
Color: Ink Blue
I've never spent $1000 on a phone and I never will, so I can't compare this phone to some of the higher end ones. But compared to past phones all $200 or less, this phone is AMAZING. My last phone was the Moto G Play 2021 which came with 3gb ram and 32gb memory and although it was a good phone, the memory filled up very quickly and I was always having to delete apps to use new ones, then delete them when I was done to get the original apps back. This problem went away after I finally realized I could install a micro sd card and have my whole spotify playlist downloaded onto it, but now that I have 128 gb of memory, that is something I will never have to worry about. Having an additional gb of ram has made it much faster than the previous phone, the picture quality is nice, everything works wonderfully. I imagine since technology is advancing so quickly, this phone is what people would pay $500+ a few years ago for, but now we can have it for the low price of $149.99. If you decide to get it, make sure you get the correct case. There are many phone cases on Amazon where people are complaining that the case doesn't fit the phone and subsequently leaving a 1-star review, not realizing they got the wrong case. It's surprising how many people don't use their brains. If a case doesn't fit or the cutouts don't line up, which is more likely: that the case producer manufactured the product incorrectly, or that you ordered the wrong case? In the Moto G Series, they have the Moto G Play, Moto G Pure, Moto G Stylus, Moto G Power and Moto G. So many Motos... Find out what phone you have and what year it is to make sure you are getting the correct case. I highly recommend the Anloes case for this phone, it is better and cheaper than the Otter case and has a dust cover for the charging port which the Otter case does not. ... show more

  • Nice phone
Color: Ink Blue
This phone works as expected and is very nice looking it works perfectly does not lag looks great only problem I had with it was that it downloads a lot of junk which I had to take out after the download and there is one problem with this phone as with all phones I could not create a new Google account with it which I wanted to do because this was not for me it was for somebody else and they never had a Google account before so I had to use my account until everything was downloaded and then I disabled my account after everything was downloaded I don't know what this person is going to do in the future when it comes to Google Play and Google I'm going to have to look into it to see if there is a way to create a new account for the phone this is a very bad flaw with every phone on the market because it's not a phone problem it's a Google problem ... show more
