I bought the ones with the extended padding even though I'm only a 5'1" tall woman. I got these so when I rode my electric bike, my bones will be protected (I'm a senior). They fit like a dream, are fully adjustable, and once adjusted by the Velcro straps, they clip over the hinge really easy. Makes getting them in and off really easy. They appear to be made of a strong durable yet slightly flexible plastic. They flex and bend at the knee joint perfectly. The padding inside is generous and supportive and the equipment is extremely comfortable. Beneath the padding is another layer, a liner, of foam adhered to the underside of the plastic protector. However, this liner foam is barely glued on and as you can see from the photo , part of the pieces fell out. I can hot glue gun these back on. But I dropped one star for this sloppy tack job with the inner liner. For these prices, it should not have happened. These knee and shin guards will also fit a larger taller man with a generous amount of strap length. Update: 11-27-25: I've ridden with these for 800 miles so far. There is a small snag tare at the top of the cloth of one of the padded guards where the seam on the pad rim is freyed about 1/3 inch. Not sure why this happened. Easy fix and doesn't affect the protection. The inner liner pad still is in place after 800 miles. So I changed my rating to 5 stars!
