I have never really thought about the different types around the world but am now glad that I have this book! I can read this and know what has been and where they have progressed to. Definitely a good gift or for anyone that enjoys the history or lifestyle of motorcycles. Large book in both size and amount of pages, the cover is well done and will look good on a table or larger shelf. The book contents spans the history of motorcycles from the earliest conceptions to the more recent styles, has breakdowns and information about the major brands and how they came to be, and a few full page photos through the years. Very complete book. So many different styles, models, and manufacturers are featured in this book. Broken down by decades, each section lists all sorts of different categories (like "middleweights" "classics" "hyper sport" "cruisers" "touring" "innovation" etc.) Even mopeds/scooters. Very nice book, exactly what a coffee table book should be for a gearhead or motorcyclist. Great history, lots of very interesting information, and of course, really nice pictures. It does a good job showing the chronological evolution of motorcycles over the years, again with a lot of interesting information. It also has all the hallmarks of a great coffee table book, super interesting if you want to really read through it, or a good combination of pictures and facts for skimming, and the pictures alone for flipping through it. It's also well constructed. Has a nice cover, good thick semi glossy pages, and solid binding. It's not the best cover art I've seen, but it's still very good looking. This book on motorcycles makes a great gift for any motorcycle enthusiast. Hardbound with thick pages and bright color images, the overall quality and accuracy of the information is excellent. Everything is organized by decades, starting in the 1920's and going up to the 2000's. There are model entries as new as 2024 in some cases. At the end of the book is an entire chapter on engine types with cutaway pictures and labels for all the major components. I liked that this book had a helpful glossary of terms and an index that is organized by manufacturers - so looking up a Honda is easier than trying to find or remember the exact model. ... show more
