  • Handy little fuel tank
The media could not be loaded. Summary: This is a really handy fuel tank for in the shop. I've used this on the workbench for rebuilding carburetors, but I also like to use it for my old moped that doesn't have a fuel gauge. Its nice to know I've got a fuel reserve if I need it. Pros: - fuel valve is good quality - the hanger was easy to setup and helpful to keep the tank mounted above the engine - the clip on the hose works well for keeping the fuel line attached to whatever you're working on Cons: - Anything I could list here would just be a nitpick Overall, this is a great piece of equipment for in the shop, and peace of mind when I'm cruising on my old moped. ... show more

  • decent aux fuel tank with some good features and one design flaw
I've been using a gas tank I took off an old lawnmower as an aux fuel tank when I work on motorcycles, but it has its drawbacks, like a hacked together hanger using an old ratchet strap, small size, and no markings for fuel amount. I decided it was time to step up to something less hacky and more professional looking. This one checks all of the boxes in terms of functionality. It's a good size, it's got a nice hanger, a large cap with a vent (that can be closed off), and a way to hang the fuel line when not in use. The fuel level markings are only in milliliters, but that's fine for me, I don't care about the unit used as much as the amount of fuel that is drawn out. The tank flows well with just gravity, so it could be used on small engines that use gravity feed, as well as anything with a fuel pump. I had a hard time putting the hanger onto the fuel tank, the hanger itself is made of very stiff wire and is not easily bendable (which is good), but getting the second hook into the tiny hole required some manhandling with needle nose pliers and some swearing, but it finally went in. The hook itself is big, so should be hangable from a lot of different places, like the handlebars. It comes with a ball valve shutoff and a fuel line of about 2 feet. The one big design flaw is that the fuel outlet at the bottom of the tank is not flush to the bottom. Instead, it is recessed inside the tank about an inch, meaning that you will never be able to draw all of the fuel out through the fuel line. To empty it completely, you'll have to dump it out the top. It's a very strange design choice and it makes absolutely no sense to me. I can see that maybe it could collect debris in the tank and keep it from going into the fuel line, but I use clean fuel when I work on my bikes, and the bikes always have a fuel filter. Aside from that annoyance, it's a pretty solid solution for supplying fuel when the gas tank is off the bike. ... show more

  • Great for working on anything carbureted.
The media could not be loaded. Great product for working on anything with a carb, specially on motorcycles before you commit to installing tanks just to realize you need to remove them get you tour air/fuel screws, etc... Setup was a bit of a pain, first removing the metal hanger without bending it was like solving one of those metal puzzles, took me a hot minute... And then installing in, inserting the loop in the little plastic piece that seemed it would brake off just by trying, but with some long nose pliers, and a few attempts and patience got it done. I installed a little filter just in case, since you'd connect them straight to the carb. Don't want to ruing your rebuild by introducing crap while in setup mode!!! ... show more

  • Works well, I'd change the tubing
Worked well on my motorcycle project, I have a tank full of old bad gas so this was great to test the engine with. My only minor criticism is the quality of the fuel line, I'll upgrade this as it's very thin, flimsy, and I doubt it's ability to stand up over time.

  • Should have got one of these long ago
Porotmotor Motorcycle Auxiliary Fuel Tank. This thing is great. Saves time spent reinstalling a motorcycle or ATV tank when working on the machine. I’ll use it for the mower, ATV, dirt bikes, and Jeep.
