The only thing I had to do was set my idle speed and my 2009 Yamaha Grizzly 450 is running great. I have no complaints and would purchase this carburetor again if needed.

Perfect fit on my 2002 Yamaha Big Bear 400, fired up and ran perfect for a year and 2 months with no problems, broke the filter in half last week (barely touched it, but was about time to change it anyways) and now the carb started flooding. But for $30 I'm not even going to bother trying to rebuild it, just going to order another and send it for another year. Also, love the little finger adjuster for the idle control, very handy in the winter months.

Some tech notes on these carbs would be nice and possible avoid returns.... I have a 2003 Yamaha big bear, worked after reading some of the helpful reviews. Had issues with the plastic sleeve on the original throttle so I removed it altogether, hopefully it doesn't affect the cable reliability. But the most helpful bit was about the choke plunger, had to use the original and it was clearly different since the new one didn't have an o ring nor a groove to put one. without that swap it would idle fine but bog down under load. After that, ran like new again... as a side note I also changed oil and oil & air filters. Changed the sparkplug & coil, as well as the fuel filter. Also flushed fuel tank and replaced the valve as it was rotten to the core...

Im actually impressed. After ordering a OE carb, we'll over 400$ that had casting issues and the bug bear could hardly run. I had little to no hope in this thing. But for 30$ why not try. When I got it I set the carb up for factory setting, made sure everything was correct, it looked too good to be true. I installed it on the quad after slight tweaking of the air screw and idle screw shes running great. This thing hasn't run in 12 years, the original carb was eaten by ethanol and not salvagable. Time will tell for longevity, but after putting about 6 miles on it, playing around, its holding. I'd say for the price, give it a shot.

Got the carb for a 2007 250 Yamaha Big Bear. Carb looks exactly the same but it is Jetted for the larger engines... Installed quite easy and it started great but was flooding out the engine with the oversized jets that came with it... I read one of the reviewers that said his carb kit came with different jets, but mine did not... It was a very easy fix, because I just pulled off the float pan by removing the bottom 4 screws on both my old carb that came with my quad runner and the new carb and I just pulled out the 3 jets from my new carb and swapped them with my old 3 jets (that were smaller and already jetted for my engine and for our altitude)... it is very easy and just make sure that your old jets are not plugged and it will run great for you.... There were many people that reviewed this carb and did not understand that the 3 jets inside the float bowl need to have the same side as your old one and can be swapped and it will run perfect after that. My Big Bear ran way good after I spent maybe half an hour to pull the carb back off and swap and reinstall it... My kit also came with a great see through fuel filter that I just cut the fuel line and installed and it great. Note: The choke on the new carb came with a new plunger sitting inside its housing, with the choke cable plastic housing screwed into the carb... You will need to unscrew the cable housing to see the plunger inside the carb... the plunger looks like it is screwed into the carb because it has a slot across it that look like a regular screw driver would fit... just use a regular screw driver to kind of pull it out or turn it on its side to drop the plunger out (another reviewer did not know it was the new plunger and just thought it was a different choke and ran the engine without the choke, when it was and easy fix .... After 3 hours to R&R the carb on a 2005 350 Bruin I am now no better off. After installing carb the engine started and idled great. Took it for a test drive and it ran great but that was the end of the performance. Engine started loading up at idle then died. Tried to adjust idle but could not get it stable. Continued to load up. After 30 minutes of playing with the idle I gave up. The carb obviously has an internal issue so I have ordered a different brand for the next R&R. I have a lot of experience with aftermarket carbs. This is the first one that I have received that was defective.

Three stars for the price - look, you're getting a cheap rebuild kit that comes in a carburetor shaped object. If it's still in the $25 range and you have the OEM one still, go for it. If you want a simple drop and swap solution, keep looking - this ain't it. I put the carb straight on a 2008 Grizzly 500, and it was pretty awful. I could get it to start but not idle or move once in gear. What I ended up doing was taking all of the O rings, the adjustable needle, a jet, and a couple screws from this and installing them into the factory carb. Filled the bowl with brake parts cleaner, started it easily, and it sat there and idled. No issues at all now.
