  • A good backpack with a few drawbacks.
After years of use I finally had to replace my Tamrac backpack as the zipper finally gave out. I looked on line for a long time for something similar and the MOSISO looked very similar and I have to say, given the price I am pleasantly surprised. Pros: For about $60 USD it fits the bill nicely for replacing a backpack that was far more expensive. It's just a tad smaller than the Tamrac but overall seems well built and of quality material. The zippers are extra smooth and opening and closing all compartments of the the bag is really easy. The zipper extenders (finger loops) are pretty easy to get hold of. It does have room to expand outward (towards you in the images) but was a tight fit for my Nikon 70-200mm though it does go in. Wearing the backpack is very similar and has sufficient but slightly firmer padding. Shouldn't be a real issue for me and I am very sensitive to a comfortable fit. I have seen some complain about the patches but I can't see why. They are easy enough to pull off including the name which I thought would have been sewn on. Not many companies want you ripping off the logo. Because it is removable and I like that decided to make it removable, I will be leaving it on. It also has plenty of velcro to add more patches. And all the compartments are pretty much as advertised. Cons: There is no waist belt so this only has the strap across the chest. Some may prefer this but I would have liked to have had the option to add and remove a waist belt. It does fit well and doesn't seem to move around much but the Tamrac had a waist belt and I have to admit, I mostly left it loose especially when I was shooting near water so it could be easily discarded in the event I found myself in a sneaker wave. But when I was going on a long hike, I would use the waist belt. Yet to be seen if I will miss it or not. It really does suffer from a lack of compartments. So do expect to purchase some extra small pouches to hold your SD card, Batteries and headlamps. It really could have done with a few more and this was my biggest concern regarding the purchase. It has no rain pouch which I found odd but the bag itself it supposed to be rain proof so only time will tell and I did load up the one that came with the Tamrac which due to the similar design does fit the bag perfectly. It's only a minor issue but just to be safe I am going to carry the rain shield from the Tamrac. There are NO instructions as others have pointed out. But it's really not that hard to look at the online images and get an idea of where things could go. I am probably not done adjusting the somewhat thinner padding on this bag. It does make the backpack slightly lighter weight and I do believe the padding is sufficient for most all bumps I would cause this might be a problem for those who are doing more rugged hiking. For me the lighter weight padding is nice because this just really needs to protect the gear going in and out of the trunk. Not much more. Summary: There are better backpacks but probably not for this budget. This is really nice material, well constructed and with padding for most all uses. I think the patches look descent and the pattern on the back pack looks really nice. Better than the plain colored versions of the pack. I also very much liked that the tripod storage is on the bottom of the bag and not one side which can really make the packs unbalanced if you have a good sturdy tripod with good quality ball head. Going to the bottom just makes it much easier to balance on your back and not get hung up in the brush. I would give it a strong recommend for those on a budget. I don't think it will disappoint if you are willing to buy extra pouches for memory and battery storage. ... show more

  • Not what I intended for - Dang it!
I bought this backpack in camo pattern to use as an equipment bag for my DSLR camera and lenses. The removable inserts were bundled together for setting up your own customized configuration. After a once over inspection, I decided that it seemed very well constructed and would suit my needs just fine. But on the day I received it from Amazon I decided that needed a 'bug out bag' for an impromptu road trip out of state for the weekend (sans camera). I wanted to travel light so I decided to leave my suitcase and use this backpack instead. After all, it seemed to be sturdy and I could smack it around, stuff it like a cheap date at a buffet, and possibly find the weak spots before trusting my camera equipment with it. I commenced to cramming in two pairs of jeans, four shirts, an extra pair of shoes, toiletries, medications, cigars, chargers for my Apple products, and a few non-essential items. Even after all that, it wasn't really over-stuffed, it was 'just right'. To make this long story short, it performed so well and was so practical that I decided to keep it as my bug out bag! Now I need to order one for my camera gear. ... show more

  • Excellent bag
The media could not be loaded. I bought this bag to carry all my equipment on a recent trip to Yellowstone. I packed an aluminum travel tripod, sunscreen, bug spray, spare batteries, spare sd cards, a cleaning kit, lens cloths, a Canon eos rp, an rf 50mm f/1.8, an ef 70-200mm f/2.8, an ef-eos r adapter, and other small accessories. PROS 1. This bag is large enough to fit all my gear with room to spare 2. The main compartment is customizable to fit cameras and lenses in any configuration you can think of. 3. The side opening pocket is nice for quickly retrieving your camera without having to completely takeoff the backpack. 4. There is a velcro "shelf" to seperate the main compartment from the upper, smaller compartment. This shelf/divider is rigid and removable. I kept the shelf/divider in. This allowed me to store extra batteries, sd cards, and cleaning supplies in the upper compartment. You can remove this shelf/divider and gain additional vertical space in the main compartment if needed. 5. The straps are padded and fairly comfortable. I wore this pack on several hikes, the longest being 6 miles, and it didn't bother me more than any other back pack. 6. There is a padded zipper compartment for a small to medium laptop on the back of the bag. My surface pro tablet fit nicely in this pocket with plenty of room to spare. 7. There is a small water bottle type pouch on the opposite side of the side opening. This pouch was not wide enough to carry much, but does have a zipper to expand it. This pouch was perfect for carrying a bottle of sunscreen. CONS 1. My biggest complaint is with the retention straps on the bottom of the bag for a tripod. These straps are the cinch down type and I didn't feel they were very secure. First, it was hard to get a good cinch on my tripod. Second, the straps loosen up very easily. Third, the straps only have one anchor point in the center of the bag. This caused my tripod to swing back and forth while walking. It wasn't too terrible, but it was noticeable and annoying. I would've liked to see each starp secured with two anchor points and the buckle style straps instead. However, this complaint is not a deal breaker. 2. The orange dividers don't have much padding. They remind me more of a fleece wrapped piece of cardboard. They are somewhat rigid, so I would not try to bend them. The two longer dividers do have a break in them allowing for 90 degree bends. I would have liked to see a little more padding on these dividers similar to what the lowepro bags have. Overall, this is a great bag. I recommend this bag to anyone that needs to carry around a bit of gear, especially when hiking to a shoot or traveling with their equipment. ... show more

  • Good Quality Bag, But Short Straps
I really like the quality of this bag. I’ve had it for about 9 months now. I bought it for a trip to Europe to carry my camera gear. I like the hidden compartment behind my back along with the separate laptop compartment. Fabric is thick, zippers move smoothly, but the only complaint I have is the length on the shoulder straps is very short. I knew this going into it and found a YouTube video explaining the sew on fix. I would recomend this bag to anyone whose looking to carry their photograph gear with them. ... show more
