  • Great version of Mortal Kombat!
Platform For Display: Nintendo Switch Edition: Standard
I was skeptical about whether this could be much better than other versions but it's awesome! Impressive graphics, great game play with tutorials to teach all the many strategies for each character! Great fun :)

  • Its good!
Platform For Display: Nintendo Switch Edition: Standard
As far as the game itself, it's great. The graphics are a little downgraded as expected, but the gameplay is , to me, same as it is on xbox one. ( I also own xbox one x). Handheld mode plays great also and looks good considering it's on a 720p small little screen. I mostly play my switch docked, but I bought mk11 on switch for the portable aspect of it and I just love Nintendo. But I do also own xbox version. So all that being said, the switch version besides graphics , is just as fun or good as the other versions. And the graphics aren't tht much downgraded considering how underpowered the switch is. My ONLY complaint is that even tho I bought the physical copy, u still have to download 16.1gb of data to have access to whole game. All u can do b4 download is fight local multiplayer or computer. Not story or towers. Jst normal fight. Everything else is locked until 16.1gb download is done. Tht is bullcrap. I mean the whole digital edition isnt but like 22gb....so tht means they bought the smallest card possible and make u download most of it anyway. Defeats the purpose. I'm very against the all digital stuff. I like physical stuff tht I can hold and trade or sell if I like. Other than that its awesome. ... show more

  • Not bad but not great...
Platform For Display: Nintendo Switch Edition: Standard
I haven't had this even two weeks as of this writing but wanted to write something. Originally I was going to wait until the Komplete Edition was released (I've seen a rumor of April 2021 now) to get it on either Xbox One or PC, and the Switch version became an afterthought. But just recently the Switch version dropped to $20 and I figured, why not at that price? My primary motivator for purchase was portability, whether it be to play on plane flights, in bed, or other things like that. Nonetheless, so far it PLAYS well, it's just that the graphics suffer. Lighting is bad, (there's a comparison image online from MK11's Krypt, where you can clearly see the Moon on the PC version where [in the same exact spot] on Switch you only see fog; it's on Kotaku), there are occasional stutters between cut scenes and there is pixelation, ESPECIALLY noticeable on the character's hair (see Cassie Cage, Sonya for good examples). This really makes me wonder why this game was released with these issues. Now I realize the Switch is less powered than the PS4 and XB1, but it makes me wonder why, considering the cartridge box says "20 GB download required," if that was needed then surely there could have been extra code in the programming to enhance the pixelation. (The fact that a larger capacity gamecard wasn't used in the first place is another story). Also... the Internet connection that is required on nearly everything to keep track of your rewards/koins etc. is an annoyance, especially considering this is a portable console. Bottom line... this is sufficient to "scratch the itch" for MK11 if you really value portability here. Otherwise, I'd say buy it on XB1, PS4, or wait for the inevitable Komplete Edition and maybe the Switch publisher will get their act together with the coding and make that version better. ... show more

  • Very good port
Platform For Display: Nintendo Switch Edition: Standard
This game is best played on docked on a reputable 4K TV brand. The processors of these TVs bring out a satisfactory level of image quality. Given the Switch is a hybrid console. It should never compared to stand alone PC like consoles. It's decent.
