First, I want to begin by saying I absolutely love the aesthetic of this piece and it seems very sturdy. The lift top functions well, it does take some effort to get it up though. I love having the additional storage for controllers and such. My main gripe with this coffee table and the reason for a 4 star rating is the building process. It took two of us three hours to get this thing together, we went based off of the written directions. When we finally were about to give up I searched for a demo build of the coffee table and that was what got us to finish. I absolutely love this TV stand and coffee table combo. I have been looking for a design similar to these, so I’m happy with my purchase. I was a bit worried reading reviews on assembly, but if it helps, I’m 4’11” (tiny in height and size) and managed to put both of these together completely by myself without power drills (TV stand took about ~3 hours; coffee table took about ~2 hours). We love the look of this table and the instructions for assembly were clear. The only issue is that one of the legs came damaged, so it bothers me that I can see it on the side. Otherwise, the lifting mechanism works well, it’s sturdy, and it fits nicely into our living room.

    • Not that hard to put together, but am worried about scratching

I don't typically write reviews but the reviews posted here made me worried that it would be impossible to put together. It was fine! Have to follow the directions but everything was labeled exceptionally well. Took a couple hours which I expected. Feels very sturdy. I'm worried a little bit that it will scratch easily but to find a lift top that isn't boring or ugly or more than $300 is impossible. ... show more

It did come in a lot of steps to put them together but luckily I had help! But after we got it up, it is seriously so cute and very modern looking. Well worth the money!

When we received the table, we had two problems: the holes in the beams do not line up with the holes meant for the screws in the bottom/base, so the bracing pieces were either too long or too short; and the bottom of table surface is missing white plastic ports on one side where screws go in, so there was nothing for the screws to grab onto. Other than these issues, the product actually looks very good: the pieces of wood are solid, the assembly and the instructions were clear, and the packaging was well-done. UPDATE: We reached out directly to the company's customer service line (on their instruction manuals), and they were able to provide very prompt customer service. They couldn't help us replace parts, but they were able to give us a refund for the trouble of attempting to search for a spare piece in the local hardware store.     • Practical, looks nice, but design for assembly is poor

Aesthetically pleasing and functional, which is difficult to come by. The wood finish is nice to the touch. Design for assembly is not the best… It is impossible to install the four feet without stripping the screws it comes with. I had to use an adjustable wrench to drive the screws in which caused damage to the wood. Assembly is overall difficult especially with one person. Definitely recommend installing the bottom boards that go in between the four feet before you install the feet themselves, so the screw holes are aligned. ... show more

    • Difficult to set up and bad materials for a beautiful table

I bought this table in Nov 2022 since I saw that the top portion lifts up. Since I don’t have a dining room, this was perfect for being able to sit on my couch and work. But the set up and building portion of this table was awful. The instructions were unclear images of the building and there weren’t enough materials to build it properly. On top of this, many of the screws didn’t fit the holes they needed to be in. And this is coming from someone who has professional building experience. Once built, the table was rickety but was still usable. It wasn’t until almost after 4 months of having it, that it started to break. The bottom panel that kelp the legs steady broke off and wouldn’t attach no matter how much glue, screws, and other adhesives I put on it. Then one of the legs duly came off when I was putting my laptop in it tonight. Really is a big shame since it was a good table, even if the set up was horrible. UPDATE: The Customer service from the team was able to help with my frustrations. Updating the rating due to good experince. ... show more
