I have been wanting a ultrasonic cleaner for a long time BUT did not want to eat the high price tag a name brand system would entail so I decided to try the Mophorn 6L and I while this IS a good unit that works well enough (the only reason it got three stars) there are some things you NEED to know. That said lets dive in. First a little TLDR: Pros: 1) It's cheap AND it works reasonably well....... that's it on the pros Cons and check my Mods section: 1) The brand will NOT match what it states, mine was a Vevor 2) The fit and finish WILL look used even though it is new 3) The rubber feet are trash, see Mods 4) The plastic hose fitting is trash, see Mods 5) The temperature setting is several degrees off true 6) The manual needs A LOT of work but this is typical of Chinese products so more of a gripe IN THE BOX/ASSEMBLY - You have the unit itself, the basket and small parts sphere, manual, drain hose adapter, drain hose, and cord. Assembly is easy, simply plug the cord in, and your pretty much ready to clean. USE - The controls are simple and easy to use and understand. The manual can be hard to follow with the broken grammar and poor sentence structure but is usable. You have four windows set in two pairs, one for Set Temp and Actual Temp, and one for Minutes and Seconds. You have temperature, time, heater power, degas, full wave, and half wave buttons. My gripe here is that the button labeled power does NOT tell you that it ONLY controls the heater. Use is fairly simplistic, simply fill the tank to about 3/4 (make sure the drain is closed), Turn on the main power switch in the back. Degas your solution by setting the timer for 5 min and pushing degas. THIS IS NOT in the manual and should be done when filling the tank, google "degas sonic cleaner" for explanations on why you should do this. After degas set the temperature if you desire the cleaning solution to be heated and power the heat on and allow it to come up to temperature. This is the power button in front under heat. Set the desired cleaning time and place the basket with your work pieces into the tank. Start the sonic cleaner by hitting full or half wave. When complete remove and rinse the basket and work pieces. I always allow the solution to cool, and drain it off into a reclaim tank while filtering out the debris for later reuse. Clean and dry the tank and lid then power off until next time. In my pictures you can see the results from a severely rusted pair of dykes and a camera mount. To me it works pretty well and I did do the aluminum foil test which it passed perfectly. MODS - Mod #1 since the drain hose adapter IS TRASH and WILL LEAK with and without thread tape it needs to be replaced. First off the threads on the adapter DO NOT even match the threads in the drain port. The drain port on mine is M16 1.5 while the adapter seems to be a finer thread pitch which will only screw in a few turns before stripping due to the mismatch AND the poor quality plastic. Replace this with a "M16 M16X1.5 Male to Barb Hose ID 3/8” or 16mm Brass Adapter Fuel Air" found on Amazon and a 3/8"x9/16" O-Ring to stop this drain leaks permanently. Mod #2 heat shrink those basket feet. The cheap rubber feet literally slide off into oblivion when just glancing in the direction of the basket. This is easily solved with some 1/4" heatshrink on each foot. This will securely hold the feet on the basket while adding additional protection between basket and tank. These feet are critical to prevent the basket from wearing a hole in the tank where it contacts the tank. FINAL THOUGHTS - If you're like me and don't always want to "cry once buy once" when trying something new then you need to be prepared for some disappointment OR some homemade improvements. In this case the improvements needed were minor and still came in well below name brand cleaners prices. The unit looks like I found it in a second hand store (came with tons of finger prints and dust) but it is new AND works well if not a little better than expected. As for the looks it is a tool NOT a display piece so there's that. Now the real question will be "will it work six months from now?" we shall see.

The machine is quite straight forward. Controls are intuitive and easy to use. I did the aluminum foil test as soon as I had it unpacked and plugged in. The entire area appears to be quite evenly subject to the ultrasonic waves. The aluminum showed a quite even distribution of pits and holes. The drain tap makes it easy and clean to empty when used next to the sink, with no messy spills. The brand name doesn’t appear to be printed anywhere on the machine, which is strange, but it does a nice job of cleaning. Worth the money.

First they shipped me a clearly used/refurbished unit. I refused to use it as they offered me a $10 credit (which is insulting to begin with). Received a replacement unit that looked brand new. But the machine was DoA. None of the buttons work and I could not get it to power on at all. I should have known better when it was so cheap. I'm glad it arrived dead and not die on me few months later. That would have been a disaster.

For the money, this little gadget is great. It won't hold a lot being a small tank, but anything that will fit comes out absolutely as clean as can be. Jewelry comes out looking new, as does ammo brass and any gun parts. Haven't had it long enough to know how it lends up in the long run, but I'll be sure to update when I do.
