We used fresh batteries and it simply doesn't work. Two lights barely light up the rest doesn't work. I would not chance buying it.

This toy bounces back and forth between my three kids, 7, 5 and 2. All three of them enjoy playing with this toy very often and for quite some time. What sets this apart from other Montessori busy boards is that this is mechanical and electronic at the same time. This has noises and lights with each physical button and flip or connector that the kids touch. Most of the other busy boards are a little bit sensory and mostly mechanical. This board is quite simple but it has plenty of different buttons, lights and sounds and switches for the kids to not really get bored as fast. The size is really small, i do wish it was a bit bigger and that it had some more options to play with, however the size it has makes it really portable and it helps keep my 2 year old somewhat entertained during long car rides. As portable as it is, it is also really lightweight and strong, as it has survived plenty of throws and shoving from all my kids. I wouldn’t exactly categorize this as educational but rather an activity that develops dexterity and hand coordination. This toy while it has some colors and different motions it does not actually show or tell the child playing what is happening or makes any verbal sounds about colors or motions.

This busy board has been a great purchase. It has plenty of switches, buttons, lights, knobs, and moving parts to keep curious toddlers entertained while helping them develop fine motor skills. My child was immediately drawn to it and spent a surprising amount of time exploring all the different features. It's very easy to use right out of the box, and the variety of interactive elements keeps it from getting boring too quickly. The lights and controls give kids the feeling that they're operating a real piece of equipment, which adds to the fun. The build quality feels solid, and everything has held up well to repeated use. It's also compact enough to bring along in the car, on flights, or to restaurants when you need a quiet activity. For the price, this offers excellent value. It's engaging, educational, portable, and does a great job keeping little ones occupied. Definitely one of the better busy boards we've tried.

This is definitely a "busy" board, but not really "Montessori". Excepting color and sounds, not much to learn, the only coordination is the one plug insertion. Otherwise, just different switches causing light and different sounds. It wasn't what I'd expected. I took this to a family weekend with several kids under 6. The size and weight were appropriate for 12 Mos to 3 yrs. I appreciate safety aspect of the hard fasten screw for the battery compartment, to keep safe from curious little hands. The slight difference in switches, changing lights, various sounds and adjustable fan speed are attention-getting for 12 months to 3 years, but I found that it doesn't hold attention for very long. While offering visual activity, the interaction and coordination practice isn't really there. The sounds were obnoxious to the adults. I'd never take on an airplane or car. The repetitive noise in a small space would be terrible. 3 stars because it was simple, if short- lived, entertainment for the 12 -24 month old kids. In my opinion, there are better value learning toys available.
