I am a maintenance man and I have used this paint to redo more than 10 houses now over the last few years. At $90 it was nice to buy a 5gal bucket (or two) for each house so I could have extra for touch up down the road, and that has worked out great. The paint itself is thick and goes on with one coat for the most part (some thin areas may need touch up) over most neutral paints. It looks really good once it is painted on. 2 of the buckets we got smell heavily of rotten milk. Since these are made from recycled paint (stuff you take to the dump) it is possible to get milk based paints mixed in, and that is clearly what happened. They took the stinky paints back and I got new ones without issue, though it did delay the work by a few days (I had not checked the paint until it was time to put it on the walls). This was the first brand of recycled paint I had tried, and at $90 for 5 gallons, I would never get another brand, but at $140 I will be trying other brands as well, and my boss just bought 11 new units needing probably 22 - 5 gallon buckets of paint to have left overs. ... show more

I'll admit it, I was a little worried about purchasing paint online. The color swatches never seem to match the actual color. The same was true of the color I purchased -- Riverstone. The color swatch was a lot darker than I wanted, but I needed a low sheen brown because I told my landlords that I would paint once I moved into the home and promised that I would keep the colors as close to the originals as possible (truth be told, their brown colored walls have a muted muddy look... Its ugly. I hate it). Riverstone, in the bucket, has a melted milk chocoloate color. I knew when it dried it would be a shade darker and it was, but it still looks like milk chocolate. Get yourself a milk chocolate candy bar and look at the color -- that's Riverstone. I really love the color. Its beautiful and the low sheen makes it perfect for all the walls in my home -- easy to clean, but will hide surface defects of the wall, too. Once stirred in the bucket, the paint is so smooth and thick, and paints on like a dream. Since my walls were a lighter (awful) brown, there were some spots that I had to go over twice, but it was mainly my fault for not dipping the roller again towards the end of the single roll. Where I cut in at the trim with a paintbrush, those parts needed another coat, but again that was my fault because I didn't overload my brush with paint (didn't want drips). Another thing, I am so truly grateful this paint is thick enough to cover, because at my age, I have absolutely NO business being on a ladder (age and a stroke). This paint has made my task so much easier for me. I've painted my kitchen and the small hallway leading to the kitchen and I've only used about a gallon of the 5 gallon bucket I purchased. So, I'll definitely have enough paint for my other downstairs rooms -- an extra bedroom, small bath, and the living room. Since I'm so pleased with the Riverstone color, I'd absolutely LOVE to try out the Almost Dusk and Snow White shades for the upstairs rooms, because I think those colors would be beautiful and relaxing. So, if you're looking for an economical low sheen paint, that's a lovely milk chocolate brown, and covers in one coat, I definitely recommend Montage's Signature Interior/Exterior Riverstone. Im an old timer 63 and I know paint ! I was a contractor in my younger years and have sprayed brushed and rolled probably more than 100 THOUSAND gallons.. Really !! Anyway I used the " low sheen " variant on exterior stucco walls and the finish is beautiful. It has a lot of Acrylic in it which gives it the sheen and durability. This is why it is washable, this is why it will last and this is what makes it stick. So from a pricing standpoint, its a good deal. They can sell at this price because there obviously not part of a corporate giant like Sherwin, Ben Moore, Glidden and the rest and dont have 100 exec's that need to get paid there ridiculous salarys ! BUT I gave 4 stars. Why, well first of all its very difficult to order paint from a tiny color chip on a website and get the color you want. I ordered Navajo and I do understand that Navajo White from any manufacturer can vary and the Montage Navajo on the site looks as if it is Beige and this is what I wanted. So after testing a 2x3 ft piece on one of my buildings it was actually closer to soft yellow !! Luckily I knew I could buy some dark brown tint form the local paint store for cheap and get the color I wanted so I did that.. Returning 70 lb buckets of paint just isnt and option for most people so my advice is to order the sample colors first !! I do think that Montage could do a better job showing the true color of the paint by taking high res photo's of big samples of the paint that can be zoomed in or out so maybe they will in the future. The tiny little chips we have to choose from on the site just doesnt work...So hence the 4 stars instead of the 5..... ... show more

I don't understand why...........under the description it says 2 day shipping? When I placed my order on the 18th and today is the 22nd and it has not even shipped yet. Maybe that is an Amazon thing? I ordered one gallon and because i needed 2 coats am one wall (that is mainly windows) short. Love the paint goes on nice and covers well. I see someone complained about the smell? It is paint.
