This is my 2nd Monstrum scope. Put this on a Ruger 10/22 for everything that around the cabin that was not invited. Probably way to much scope for what it’s doing but the lighted crosshairs and the up close is nice with the 2x. The 9x and 10x is a little fuzzy but for the price really can’t complain. The quality appears to be excellent and seems to hold zero for a 22. I think that’s the rounds not the scope. Would buy another one

Overall this is a good scope for the price, that said it ultimately didn't work for my needs. Perfect for a budget centerfire rifle, bit too bulky for the little 10/22. You get a lot of features at this price point, felt on par with scopes 2-3x the price for the most part. I can't speak to durability as I returned it straight away. One major downside was the brightness, there is far too much light bleed into the tube. It's bounces around and is uncomfortable and distracting. Possibly a problem with my unit but definitely not ideal. Unlit it was perfectly fine.

Glass clarity is the first thing you notice. For the price, it's genuinely good. Clear image through most of the magnification range, holds up reasonably well on overcast evenings, and the 50mm objective does what it's supposed to in lower light. Things start to soften a bit toward the top of the magnification range, and there's some chromatic aberration if you're looking for it, but nothing that makes the scope unworkable. The adjustable objective is the feature that sets this apart from other budget MPVOs. Parallax adjustment from around 10 meters out to infinity, and the ring rotates smoothly without any gritty resistance. Close-range calibration is a little imprecise; the dial markings don't correspond exactly to real-world distances at the near end, but that's a known issue with budget AO lenses, and it gets more accurate as distance increases. For anything past 10 meters it behaves well. Turrets are capped and produce actual tactile clicks. They're a bit mushy compared to higher-end glass, but they function, hold zero, and the caps are large and easy to remove. The throw lever on the zoom ring is a nice touch. Everything moves with deliberate, smooth resistance, nothing feels loose or vague. The illuminated reticle runs red and green across six brightness levels each. Red is noticeably brighter than green, and at the higher indoor settings there's some bleed inside the tube. Outside in actual low-light conditions it's fine and the dimmer settings are all you need anyway. The reticle itself, black when unlit, is crisp and easy to acquire on its own. A few gripes worth mentioning: the included bikini lens covers are clearly sized for a longer scope and require a couple of twists to take up the slack before they fit reasonably well. The included rings are usable for a rimfire or air rifle but I wouldn't trust them to maintain zero long-term on a hard-recoiling centerfire. And the manual incorrectly identifies this as a first focal plane scope, it's SFP, meaning the reticle stays the same apparent size regardless of magnification. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing if you're planning to use the holdover marks at varied distances. The lifetime warranty adds some real insurance here. Monstrum has been around long enough that it's probably worth something. At this price point, with this feature set and build quality, it's hard to find a legitimate complaint that isn't just "it's not a Vortex." Solid scope. The bikini cover is a little loose - doesn’t stay on well, but for what you’re paying, I found this minor.

I’ve used a lot of scopes in my day and as time goes by, I get more and more impressed by how good affordable or entry level options have become. Especially when it comes to LPVO and MPVO’s. The Monstrum Marauder is a 2-10x50 mid power variable optic that is a great option for most people’s rifles for hunting, defense or target shooting from 0-300 yards. Scope comes in at just under 1.5lb. Just under a foot long so makes a great scout scope or would be fantastic on a lever action/brush rig. Comes with some basic but decent quality scope rings. I got the FDE color and it looks beautiful. The finish of this coating looks very good quality. Nothing about this scope feels “cheap.” Scope has great eye relief at 3-4” and the big 50mm objective lens with an adjustable objective bell makes tuning the clarity of your sight picture quick and easy. Every adjustment of this scope is smooth.. from the audible and physically responsive tactile turrets for sighting in, to the throw lever for magnification and the adjustable objective lens. All smooth while still needing deliberate force to move. Very impressive build quality, especially at this price point. Pictures don’t do it justice, but this glass is very clear, again.. especially at this price point. I’ve used scopes that cost 2 to 3 times this that look as good. Very clear even on overcast days or evenings, and if it’s not bright enough, you do have the optional illumination which is crisp and clear. Overall, I’m very impressed with the Marauder by Monstrum optics at pretty much every level at this price point. I would highly recommend trying one of these out if you’re in the market for a MPVO. I think most people would be very happy with what this delivers… lightweight, good looking, good quality, compact, affordable.

I mounted this 2-10x MPVO on my 16" IWI Zion in 5.56, and it turned out to be an excellent optic for both close-to-mid range shooting and longer distance target work. The magnification range feels very practical and versatile, especially for a general-purpose rifle setup. The 50mm objective lens is one of the standout features for me. It pulls in a lot of light and provides a noticeably brighter image compared to smaller objective scopes I’ve used before. The wider field of view also helps with faster target acquisition and overall visibility during range sessions. The glass clarity is surprisingly good for the price point. Images stay sharp throughout the magnification range, and the adjustable objective makes a noticeable difference when dialing in focus and reducing parallax at different distances. Once adjusted, the sight picture becomes very crisp and comfortable to use for accurate shooting. I also really like the turret and adjustment knob design. The serrated texture provides an excellent grip, making adjustments feel easy and controlled even with gloves on. The turret clicks are very audible and tactile without being overly stiff or difficult to turn. They feel smooth, precise, and easy to adjust during shooting sessions, which gives the optic a much more premium feel than I expected at this price range. Another thing worth mentioning is the weight. Even with the larger 50mm objective lens, the scope still feels reasonably balanced on the rifle and doesn’t make the setup feel overly front-heavy. It feels solid and durable without becoming uncomfortable during longer-range sessions or carrying the rifle around all day. The illuminated reticle is another feature I’ve enjoyed. The brightness settings are easy to adjust using the inline dial, and the illumination helps a lot in lower light conditions or when shooting against darker backgrounds. The reticle itself remains clean and easy to see without becoming distracting. The included scope rings are also a nice bonus and mounted securely without issues. Once zeroed, the optic held zero consistently during multiple shooting sessions and continued to perform reliably. Overall, this scope exceeded my expectations for an affordable MPVO. It offers clear glass, solid construction, smooth and tactile controls, useful illumination, balanced weight, and excellent value for the money. For anyone looking for a dependable and versatile optic without spending a fortune, this is a very solid option.

For the price, this scope honestly impressed me more than I expected. It is clearly built to hit a budget price point, but the actual scope body feels solid, the magnification ring turns smoothly, and the turrets have surprisingly positive tactile clicks. Nothing feels loose internally, and the glass quality is better than I anticipated in this range. The illuminated reticle offers both red and green with multiple brightness settings, which is a nice feature at this price. My main complaint is that the illumination bleeds into the inside of the tube instead of only lighting the reticle itself, which becomes distracting in darker conditions. This is a second focal plane (SFP) optic, so the reticle appearance stays consistent throughout the zoom range. That works well for general shooting, although it is less useful for ranging or holdover estimation at different magnifications. The included rings are usable, but I would strongly consider replacing them on anything with meaningful recoil. The crossbolt engagement on the rail is minimal on one side, and I would not fully trust these to maintain zero long term on a centerfire rifle. For a .22 or air rifle, they are probably fine. I also was not impressed with the lens caps. Mine do not fit particularly well, and the turret caps do not appear especially weather resistant. That said, the actual optical quality is respectable for the money. Eye relief is usable, image clarity is decent through most of the magnification range, and overall this feels much more substantial than many ultra-budget optics I’ve handled. The included lifetime warranty is also reassuring. Monstrum has been around long enough in the budget optics space that the warranty likely has real value. Overall, this is not a miracle optic, but it is legitimately good value if your expectations match the price point.

I have found the Monstrum line of scopes to be very well made and perform without problems. I do have several different scopes and they all perform awesome. I have no issue holding a zero after hundreds of rounds down range on my 5.56 rifles. These scopes look great on my firearms and add to their performance. This scope is a 2x10x50 AO with the FMR4 reticle. The glass is extremely clear. Using the ranging options and some practice, I can range targets without adjusting the scope. And if needed and you are shooting in low light conditions, this scope does have an illuminated reticle in both Greem and Red which really adds to the effectiveness of the scope, especially if hunting hogs early in the morning or at dusk in low light situations. This scope looks, feels and functions like a scope at a much higher price. This company who imports these scopes works out of California and the stand behind their scopes with a lifetime warranty. Very nice! The only negative on this scope are the covers that come with it, they are made for a longer scope. I put two twists in it and they work effectively. Not a negative on the scope itself.
