I mounted this Scope on a .308win and was skeptical at the price point on if it would handle the recoil. I’m happy to say after 200 rounds the scope is still on point with no drift or wandering. It is very well built and has excellent clarity for the price it’s definitely the best scope in its price range and one would need to buy a scope that costs about $200 more to beat the monstrum. Keep up the great products Monstrum you have made a multiple product buyer out of me!!

For a 1x6, it's large and weighty, it's size and weight is comparable to a larger magnification. It is good quality, all functions correctly, stiff adjustment ring, clear glass, well finished, its just not for me. But would recommend.

First let me say I love this scope. Everything about it is stellar for the price point. But... something needs to be done about the quality control. The first scope I received had two fingers on the reticle glass which only show during illumination, but in the third picture you can see what I saw. I couldn't believe it, but I thought hey, it happens, I just got Murphy's Law on this one. Amazon promptly sent me a replacement. I opened it up and turned on the illumination. The replacement scope has a ghost blur as seen in the photos. I'm not pleased by this at all. However, I'm not going to hope for a third time's the charm scenario so I'll live with it I guess. However I will not be recommending Monstrum to anyone going forward. I've never had issues with my Primary Arms scopes. Also, others complain about it not being a true 1x. This is true. It's not. It starts about a 1.2x or 1.3x at the 1x position. While not a big deal for 1-eye shooting, keeping both eyes open for CQB range makes for a weird view. It's workable, but not optimal. So 3 stars. If someone from Monstrum wants to pull a scope and do a personal check for quality control and replace my second G3 with a properly QC'd product, then great. When the reticle is illuminated all that should be red is the reticle. No fingerprints, no ghost blurs, nothing but crisp etching. Speak up or forever hold this rating. UPDATE 1/21/2020 Well I couldn't stand the blur so I contacted Monstrum directly. Very responsive. They said it was defective and offered a replacement. It is currently on the way and hopefully will be issue-free this time. Only negative about the replacement process was the $25 out of pocket to ship the defective scope back to them. Amazon replacement was free, just drop it off at Kohl's. I'll update when the replacement arrives. UPDATE 1/22/2020 Received the direct replacement scope from Monstrum today. Well, 3 for 3 bad scopes! This replacement has another gigantic smudge on the reticle glass (dsee picture 4)! This one is even worse than the first one. This looks like someone wiped their oily face then used their thumb to seat the reticle. At this point I'm done with Monstrum. The quality assurance is severely lacking if I got three defective scopes in a row. I'll take the refund and save up for a PA or Vortex. To bad because the scope is great. UPDATE 1/24/2020 Spoke with Rich in support. He was very attentive and looked into my issue. He sampled other brand new scopes from their inventory and discovered the same pattern. He believes it to be a fine polishing step that may have been skipped. It's not every scope, but it's not just mine either. He was grateful for my help in identifying a quality control issue and they are going to do a full audit to remove the defective scopes from their inventory and identify the exact issue. He offered me a full return on the scope. I told him I was willing to live with the defect as it isn't visible in daylight shooting and I do not do much low-light shooting where it would become an issue. I love the scope and features and didn't want to spend more on another brand for less capability. He graciously offered me a resolution for my inconvenience that I gladly accepted. So changing my rating to 4 stars simply for the amazing customer service and the overall build of the scope itself. It would be 5 stars except for the obvious defect. Thanks Rich!

I bought this scope in black with a $20 coupon from Amazon. I got it to replace a G1 version that I hated. I wasn't going to buy another Monstrum but most of the things that I didn't like with the G1 scope had been fixed. Things I liked about this scope: 1) The zoom adjustment ring is much better than the G1. That annoying taper that makes clamping a quick-adjust lever impossible is gone. 2) The center of the reticle is now an illuminated circle-dot that makes it a lot easier to pick up at low magnification. 3) The turrets actually lock vs the G1 where it was a friction-based snug lock but it wasn't a sure lock. Pull up to adjust, snap down to lock. There is the standard center brass screw that you can loosed to turn the dial to zero once you are sighted in. Much nicer than the G1 version. 4) It is doing a good job of holding zero with .308 recoil. 5) Because the reticle is etched it will still be visible if the batteries die. That (for me) is the most important feature of an illuminated scope as I don't really like red dots that show nothing without a battery. Batteries have a way of dying on cold winter mornings in the woods. What I don't like: 1) It is not obvious from the web page that the entire reticle is not illuminated. There is a small inner circle-dot with hold markings that lights up but there is a larger outer circle that doesn't. I downloaded the manual before purchase and that was not spelled out. Not a killer but I was surprised. 2) Only red color instead of the red/green of the G1 scope. I've live with it but I don't like to see features go away in revised versions. Green is nice because the human eye picks up green better than red so the illumination setting can be lower. Saves batteries and green is easier to see in some dusk situations. The manual gave me a chuckle as Monstrum felt the need to point out that an illuminated reticle is not for extremely dark situations. Like, duh, you might see the reticle but if you can't see your target it isn't much help. I could only wonder if some people thought they were getting night vision for <$200. 3) Monstrum now includes flip-up scope covers. A small improvement from the bikini cover on the G1 (easily lost) but still not see-through. I replaced them with some for <$15 for the pair that seem to work fine. 4) The screws on the rings for mounting the scope are still terrible. They have a 2.5mm socket and I wasn't able to get all of them torqued to 20 in-lbs without the socket in the head stripping out. I was using a Wheeler Engineering Digital Fat Wrench that is calibrated to within a few percent so torque should be pretty accurate. I am replacing it with a UTG Accu-Sync one-piece base as I have had a lot better luck with screws in UTG rings. This is a pretty nice scope for <$200. There are a few minor annoyances that would be huge if they were on a $1k+ scope but this one from Monstrum is a good value for the money.
