  • Amazing optic for its price range, holds zero perfectly.
Style: MIL Reticle
This optic is great for the money. The glass is very clear and bright, and the scope body is heavy and well made. The anodizing quality is a good satin black. The scope turrets are large, and clicks are very tactile and give a firm click. The windage turret is lockable. The elevation turret doesn't lock, but has a zero stop that is fairly easy to set. The turret adjustments seem accurate. The reticle is a little less cluttered than I am used to. Monstrum has decluttered it, but it is still quite functional. I honestly like the decluttered view. The crosshairs are a little thick at full magnification, making this a great scope for hunting, moreso than benchrest. There is a small amount of fringing and chromatic abberation, especially at full zoom, but it is minimal, especially for the price range. It isn't something you would find on an optic that costs 6 times the price of this, but it's barely noticeable on this scope, and honestly the glass quality is fantastic at this price. The scope is first focal plane, which means that the reticle gets larger and smaller as you zoom the scope. This ensures the reticle markings are relevant at all zoom ranges, as opposed to a second focal plane, where the reticle markings are only accurate at full zoom. There is a medium sized throw lever machined into the zoom ring. The illumination has six levels, with an off setting in between each one, and only lights the center cross hair. There is minimal spill onto the rest of the glass when illuminated. The parallax adjustment is on the same side as the illumination (left side) , and it is a stacked knob design. It is listed as focusing down to 25 yards, but mine focuses to about 20 yards if you aren't at full zoom. The included rings are tall, and well machined. The caps are reversible, so you have full control over which side you put the pic rail screws on, and which side the level is on. The rings are tall enough so you can mount the optic on a flat, full pic rail and the front of the scope bell will still clear. If you are mounting the scope on a hunting rifle with a tapered barrel, you may want to opt for a lower profile set of rings, as there will be clearance to drop the scope bell lower due to the barrel taper. The rings are fairly thick, and are six bolt affairs (5 on the ring with the level). The screws are torx heads which are better than allen screws. Monstrum includes a silicone bikini scope cover with the optic. They also give you some spare screws, an L shaped torx wrench, a thumb screwdriver, and a chamber flag. There is no sun shade included. I have had it on the bench five times so far for several hours each time, and it has held zero perfectly. I have even lifted the rifle by the scope several times and the point of impact hasn't moved. I am giving it five stars based on the quality for its price. It's a hard to beat optic in this price range, and easily bests optics from a decade ago that cost fives times it's price. ... show more

  • A most excellent scope for a great price
Style: MOA Reticle
I'm not going to reproduce the glowing descriptions Monstrum Tactical uses in their listings relative to this scope. What I will say is that they are certainly not exaggerating. I have numerous Monstrum Tactical scopes ranging from 1x4 LPVOs to a 5-30X56 long range job. The glass is clear and bright on all of them. I have 2 of these 5-25X56 scopes. I have them on Howa 1500s chambered in 308 Winchester. They zero well, (i.e. the calculated adjustment delivers the intended results), and I've had no problems with them holding zero after several hundred rounds each. The eye box is very good on them. Even at full power it's pretty easy to get behind the scope. I'm sure there are better scopes to be had, but I've not found anything that comes anywhere near the performance of these, anywhere close to this price. ... show more

  • Not to bad.
Style: MIL Reticle
I picked one up being sceptical. I mean c'mon it's less than $200 . That being said I was surprised to see it was actually a useable scope. I'm sure it has limitations if you want to shoot prs or elr. But for the average person wanting to have crisp, clean image with lots of zoomies it's a decent scope. It's not a arken , not a discovery optic , the quality is sub par to them , but is fully functional, actually thinking on purchasing another. ... show more

  • Nice budget airgun or long range scope
Style: MOA Reticle
Great scope for cheap. Put it on my fx impact m4 air rifle and have absolutely had a blast. The turrets are a little sloppy but are tactile and the little movement they do have hasn't affected my dials when I reach out some. The zero stop works as expected. The retinal is accurate for all readings but I tend to just dial for what I need. Only issue is for very small targets aka the things that airgun is used for the cross hair can be slightly thick at max zoom which makes shooting at soda cans or a crow at 270 yards a little challenging but just back the magnification down and you'll be fine. This scope on a typical rifle would be just fine if you want to get into longer range stuff just know that it has some weight to it and you aren't buying vortex quality at least in the turrets the glass and construction is great. ... show more
