  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Huge improvement over 25 y/old original shocks
Easy enough to install if you're competent with tools and vehicles. Made a huge difference when towing and hauling, not to mention the lack of constant vibration and bumpiness during regular driving now. I was actually getting lower back pain from long drives in my 98 Ranger. After replacing them, I've put nearly 600 miles on them in 2ish weeks, with some towing, and my back feels great. All for $40! ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Very Smooth Ride
These are a great shock, that really smoothed out the ride of my truck. I have a 2003 Ford Ranger Edge 2WD. I leveled the front a couple years ago and put 32 x 11.5 x 15 tires on. I left the stock shocks on and it was bumpy. Since then I have tried the following shocks to help compensate for the big tires and the lift, and all were too stiff. I am very glad I found the Monro-matic's. I finally have a comfortable ride again. - Bilstein HD - extremely firm, rough ride. I do not recommend for a midsize truck. - Rancho RS5000 - pretty rough ride on the road, but nice off road. All and all not what I was looking for - Monroe Sensa-Track - better than the Bilstein and the Rancho's. They were a nice shock but still had a stiff ride Another thing to note: If you have a leveled Ford Ranger Edge, Monroe 32338 are a perfect fit for a lifted front. This shock number was made for a 2003-2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I did a lot of research to find this length of shock. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Works good
Works good bought before I knew my truck had a 3 inch lift but stretched out long enough to work I recommend if you need something cheap that will get the job done.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars 2004 Ranger XLT flareside 4.0L 4x4
2004 Ranger XLT flareside 4.0L 4x4. Fit well, first shock job on the truck and with living in the mid-west things were rusty. One lower bolt/nut came out without a hitch, the other would have required a torch and probably new hardware. Used a grinder to cut through the shock body sleeve then a hammer and chisel to punch through the last bit of metal, had I kept going with the grinder I would have had to fabricate a new lower shock mount. Worked well, as intended. ... show more

Dont buy i ordered these as a set and all of them are bad and almost had an accident cause they didnt do their job and shifted my steering wheel whenever i hit a small bump or a small pothole

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Shocks for an old truck.
Would've scored higher on the ease of installation, however, the '98 Ranger's rust issues preclude ease of anything. Once the old shocks were removed installation was quick. Used some 12mm Nylock stainless nuts to replace damaged hardware. Cost/benefit analysis: worth every penny.
