I like these a lot, I need TRS to XLR and these seem well made. They feel substantial and look nice. They do the job they are designed for as well. I really wanted to be sure the TRS to pin connection matched my equipment. Someone asked the question on the Monoprice website years ago, it was never answered. So I just had to open up the connections (voided my lifetime warranty I'm sure)....it's what I expected.... Tip goes to pin 2 (usually "hot"). Ring goes to pin 3. "-" and Sleeve goes to pin 1 "ground.". The ground is also soldered to the XLR body. So if you are as obsessive as me, you now know. Will it make a difference if your equipment has XLR pin 3 hot? (I have a piece like this). We'll probably not, but it depends. I'd rather just have it all match up. ... show more

I use this in my home studio setup for recording music, and it works perfectly fine. You will definitely have better quality sound with a gold plated cable or a more expensive one, in general. But this one does just fine. Would recommend

With the great change overs to xlr but still with instruments on 1/4, these have become more and more necessary. Sound definitely better. I use a lot of old analogue items still and often need all sorts of adapters or this type of conversion. Definitely decent quality, great price

These are great cables that saved me a ton over the Mogami Golds. They reject sound very well, and have great quality sound!
