I do not think I read the description correctly and saw this shelf would arrive in pieces. If I would had knew this, I would have gone to IKEA and purchased a shelf there, but since I had opened the box and didn’t want to go through the hassle of doing a return I pushed through and put it together. Once I had all the pieces out, figured out the directions I was able to put one part together the other parts were simple. The ONLY piece that was a little difficult to put together was the small bottom piece that went underneath. Other then that it was a breeze. I love how this looks. It wasn’t too hard to put together although I did get stuck on one part and had to get a friend to figure it out. My biggest complaint is that the instructions didn’t have any words, only pictures. I probably could have assembled the whole thing myself if the instructions had words. All the pieces came marked, so no problem assembling it. However, the top shelf has a 3” scratch mark on the bottom. Guess I have to fix it! Thus, you didn’t get a 5 star rating.

Like others have mentioned, the instructions are lacking. I was able to assemble it myself by attaching the two side legs to the top shelf and the bottom shelf (for stability) and then filling in the rest. The instructions will tell you which two leg pieces to assemble to one another, which was helpful. And which position the assembled legs should be oriented for the shelves. The issue I had was the two shelves that only take the wood screws (not the brass inserts and allen head bolts) can be installed “backwards/upside down” as there are no markings. A helpful tip is that all the wooden dowels for the rear leg should be on the same side. Keep that in mind and your install should go smoothly. Also, as in most things, do not fully tighten everything down until everything is in place and all fasteners are started. This is necessary for my method of attaching the top and bottom shelf first, as it just allows you to squeak the rest of the shelves (with dowels installed) into their proper position. The wood grain stickers could use a better adhesive, and look a tad cheap, but easy enough to disguise them with items on the shelf. This worked perfect for my wife’s spa/massage room, and the price point was right online for the quality. ... show more

For the price, or a little more, you could most likely get better value on a corner shelf than this. I sat and debated on a solid-wood with veneer accents leaning ladder shelf but ultimately settled on this one for the reclaimed wood taupe look that this one had. There wasn't a single other shelf with the same finish to be found with the same price point. There is not an ounce of real wood on this shelf; it is all veneer and particle board. It arrived in a rather small box, indicating that the support legs were two pieces fastened together instead of a solid piece. Putting it together was also a pain and required about two hours to an hour and a half. I found one shelf part with flip flopped drill holes (just drilled another hole), and an incorrectly labeled leg part (which ended up working fine, but not before giving me some stress on whether I needed to contact customer service). After all the misgivings however, without closer inspection, it is indeed a beautiful and functional piece. It's surprisingly solid with an adjuster part that eliminates wobble. I would say that so long as this not a statement piece for a room, that it can blend in fine with more expensive pieces without the high price tag. In the end that makes it all worth it. The picture I included is a suggestion for future assemblers to make sure that all the shelves have peg holes on the same side when attaching them to right and left legs!
