Color: A A3-Be Mellower
The price point for what you get feels illegal. Feel like I cheated the brand out of money they deserve for a good quality product. The saturation of the colors is unlike any gel polish I’ve ever used. And I’ve used almost all the major brand names. The color selection is absolutely perfect for what I was looking for. Every color in this set coordinated so perfectly, I had a hard time deciding which combination to go with. I always paint fake nails as testers for when I’m trying to decide on a color or combination. So I thought I’d share what my testers looked like as I was painting each coat. Then my actual nails as the final test. I was surprised that the very first coat was almost completely full coverage. Again, the saturation is so good! You do have to be careful how you apply because it is a little thicker as well. But patience, practice, and slowing down a little makes it possible to still paint thin coats which is key to lasting gel manicures. It’s hard to see in the photos but the only difference I noticed, in person, was the glitters of course and the outside edges of the solids were a little sheer. Even after capping off the tips. I’m not sure why that is. It almost seemed the color pulled into the middle after I painted them all. It’s probably some chemistry thing. Anyways, a second coat and immediately flash curing each nail after painting before a full cure of all of them together seemed to solve the problem. I will definitely be buying more from this brand. Side note: I ordered a set that came in individual bottles. I’m not sure if the small pots come with the same quality. Maybe I’ll test those out next. Love the set I got though! Highly recommended!

I have a really hard time with the liquid gel polish and get messy results on my right hand because I am a right hand dominant person. This was extremely easier to use! I had low expectations because in my head it couldn't be that great, it was almost solid. It went on easier and looks so much better!

On receiving this nail color palette, I tried one of the colors on top of an existing manicure just to see if I'd be able to see it at all--with only one layer I definitely couldn't, but it was on top of a very dark green so I wasn't shocked or alarmed. Yesterday I took time to try it on bare nails. The pale pink-to-light red color was challenging to apply: the gel with glitter is a little lumpy and doesn't apply as smooth as the non-glitter colors of Modelones solid gel palette. As the color came in contact with my nails, the reddish color turned to ultra light, transparent, pink (from the heat of my finger) and it was hard to make a tidy line at the cuticle. I went for 3 coats of color because I couldn't really see much except for the glitter with only 2 coats. In hindsight, I wish I'd had cold hands when applying this color: 2 coats might have been sufficient but I'm really not sure since I didn't try to cool my hands for a look at that point. After a coat of topcoat I ran my hands under cool sink water and was wowed with how well the red color appeared. It's not a neat polish job and definitely doesn't look professional since I couldn't make a nice cuticle line like I normally do, but another color that isn't so light might help on that front. I frequently have cold hands, so I do get color change during the course of my day-to-day even though it's summer, but I could imagine that people who don't run cold or who live some place hotter than me (CO) might end up seeing the "hot" color just about all the time. The different colors in the palette appeared to have a *slightly* different color change point, probably just a degree or few of difference at most. This is my 3rd palette of Modelones solid gels. I got the first two at once and had mostly decided I wouldn't get any more, but the color changing option was too tempting. I'm glad I tried it because the color change is pretty cool. I definitely prefer the "regular" bottles of gels, though. The compact size of the palettes is appealing for conserving bathroom storage (I seriously can't see myself using it "for travel" when it's still going to require bringing along base and top coat and a lamp). I mostly don't like the fuss of cleaning the brush (which I don't do until I want to use it for another color so I can possibly minimize waste on these tiny pots of color). I can't speak to the longevity of this particular color yet but other colors of Modelones have lasted me a couple weeks even when I file off my nail tips (I don't like having nails click on the keyboard while I work so I file my nails short each week of a home manicure even though I know it reduces the wear time of my nail job). I didn't have high hopes for quality for this low-price brand, but it does last almost as well as the OPI gel polish I otherwise use. Really, after 2-2.5 weeks I don't care anymore if I've botched it by filing because I'm ready to get it off and let my nails have a few days of recovery before choosing a new color anyway.

Nail artist here 👋 I blindly purchased these palettes and here and the pros: cost-effective, no mess, variety in a palette, travel size, buttery consistency ( not runny at all), buildable (may be a con for some people but I don’t mind), and a great product for anyone who likes to do nails. must have in the arsenal in my opinion. cons: no individual names for the colors

I've only used a few colors. Some colors are more opaque than others. The sheer colors need so many layers and I had a difficult time making it apply evenly without streaks. The formula was smooth though which made the opaque colors easy to apply evenly.

Firstly I love Modelones polishes, they're nice and thick and cover in love coat. I really love their line of solid, gel polishes, the colors are rich and vibrant. You use much less with gel polishes so they last longer as well. The case looks like a record from back in the day so what's not to love?

I was a little sceptical about this product, but for the price I decided to try. O my I am so glad I did. This gel polish is so easy to use and control. I did my mani on Sunday and it is now Friday. Still looks new. I decided not to do tips until I knew the product more. It did take 3 coats to get desired color, however that didn't bother me. I like that I can control the shade/depth of color by how many coats I put on. Absolutely love this product so far.

I think this is absolutely adorable. The little brush works great . Color payoff is good . But the consistency is very ModelOnes . Its thick , you will need 2-3 coats . It just doesnt self level how I anticipated. Kinda lumpy finish . Maybe it was me and did something wrong. But overall would suggest anybody try it out . Its not overly expensive so why not.
