It came in on time but it was missing three screws and a section of the ceramic hollow tubing inside the smelter was broken off and a rod was exposed. Still not sure if that rod will have current going through it. Haven’t found any ceramic fragments so it had to be busted off before they shipped it out. Never found the missing screws either. Inside the foundry was a lot smaller than I thought but you should be able to put a little over 1kg of metal in there at one time. I contacted Amazon and we got this sorted out. Thankfully they are incredibly easy and a pleasure to work with. They even said they will make sure to double check everything and it will never happen again. Don’t let this dissuade you from buying it though. It’s still top notch. I have a long history of bad luck with buying things that come in defective and or damaged and missing parts. They always seem to find they’re way too me. I believe this whole kit is make in China unfortunately. So if your like me, if you knew that ahead of time you wouldn’t buy it. But im balls deep in it now.

The furnace arrived in triple cardboard packaging and appeared to be in excellent condition. Unfortunately, once the lid was opened, it was clear that a small ceramic piece was damaged. Judging the damage to be minor, I used the furnace and set the temperature to around 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. The furnace functioned normally. It should be noted that if you attempt to melt unrefined ore containing metal, the result will be disappointing. Several aggregates will probably not melt and the metal will be mixed in. It is probably necessary to reach a much higher temperature than that allowed by the oven to melt everything at the same time.

This is my first furnace. I took pictures to show everything it comes with. It was packaged very well, in foam, and inside a second box for strength during shipping. The parts of the oven are ceramic and graphite molds. The stuff that would crack easily. This is to handle the extremely high temperatures this can do. I'm using it with Aluminum right now. The instructions said to heat up the mold first to 500. I did that in the oven to bake out the moisture. Not sure what problem that causes. This is probably more for jewelry and hobby applications vs a commercial use. I would recommend doing this in a garage or outside, it will smell and needs to be vented. It seems pretty self explanatory and easy to use for me. If you have trouble you tube works. This looks like it is big enough to hold a little over a pound or more of metal. It has the tongs to lift the heating tube out of the furnace, and pour into the mold. That was tricky for me. I made the coin first, then the rest in the big bar mold to use later. I wish I could make a few coins at once. Now I just need a stamp to make my own picture on the coin. Since it includes everything to get started I'd say this is a great value.

This furnace kit works very well and comes with everything needed to get started. The unit heats up quickly and melts metals evenly, making the process smooth and efficient. The graphite crucible and ingot mold are sturdy and built to handle repeated use. The included tools like the tongs, gloves, and goggles are a helpful addition for safe handling.
