My ancient carry on soft side bag broke on my last trip, so I've spent countless hours reviewing and searching for the best replacement. The biggest complaint about luggage is the zippers break, and that's especially bad for hard shells. I also didn't like the design of the hardshells that zip in the middle with no access pocket on the outside like most soft sides have. That means that you have to expose all your stuff with 2 heavy sides to manage to open it. And if you have the expansion zipper system, that's even more problematic because it puts extra stress on the zippers. No wonder they break. Pros: THIS case has solved that zipper problem and it offers a lot of great features too. The cup holder is fantastic, very sturdy, stable, and it frees up my hands when need be. The wheels roll like butter in every direction. The extension telescoping handle is very sturdy too, no problems extending or retracting it. Don't use it to pick up your bag and you'll be fine. The bag has 2 handles top and side to make picking it up easy. The TSA locking system works beautifully and is well designed. The pop out bag holders and phone/ipad holder up by the handle is great, although I have no idea how much weight they can hold. That information would have been helpful in the instructions but alas, there weren't any. I love the deep box design so that it opens like a "lid" so all your stuff doesn't get exposed or fall out, and that "lid" is very light weight, with lightly padded pockets inside for organizing. Perfect to hold things you need easy access to. The shell itself is very sturdy, probably as close to unbreakable as can be. I read that magic erasers remove scuff marks easily, but I haven't needed to test that yet. As far as how much I can pack in it, it is a bit small but with compression cubes and a deep box design, I don't expect to have any trouble once I figure out how much fits and how to organize it. In fact I like this luggage so much I'm considering getting the 24" size for extended trips. Cons: The phone charger system has easy access with a cover to protect it so that's good. BUT no instructions were included in how to use it which is frustrating. The battery pack isn't included, so I bought a separate pack. The anker battery pack I chose didn't come with a charger so I had to go back and order one of those before I can even test it! wth? sigh. Because of that I haven't had a chance to use or test the phone charger thingy. I guess it works, if I can figure out how to connect everything. The luggage didn't come with instructions in how to use it. There are wires inside with 2 different plugs, but it's not clear to me how it all connects. Wishes: MIXI - please include instructions on how to use the battery pack and tell us how much weight the bag/phone holder on the handle can hold safely. That's ridiculous to not include that. It would be great if you bundled the luggage with the items we'll need too to make it easy. This kind of frustration is not the experience you want your customers to have, am I right? Also, I'm now searching for a duffle underseat stackable bag to fit on top of this one. It would have been great if MIXI offered them as a bundle or at least as an option designed to fit this luggage. So far I've tried 5 different underseat options from different brands, and am not delighted with any of them. Bottom line is, I LOVE THIS LUGGAGE! I've had a great time showing it off to friends, and everyone wants one too. :-) I have not had the opportunity to test it in the real world on a trip yet, but I anticipate no problems when I do.

It’s a hard shell, not expandable, and I love it. It has a liquid pocket that I keep my travel shampoo, body wash, and mouth wash in. Another small pocket that I keep Tums/Pepcid in. Enough space for a pair of shoes, 2-3 days of clothes, and my toiletries. I have to smash the lid on each side while I zip it up, but it works. I like the number lock on top. I’ve used this for at least 10 trips now. Wheels still roll, zipper hasn’t snagged, and I expect it’ll last a while. I highly recommend this bag if you need a sturdy, hard shell carry-on.

I bought the green color for my wife because of the front-opening feature and I found it so beautiful, so I bought another one for myself. Good: - The gray color looks like tatinum metal color and appears much better in person. - Material: If you wonder why it is a lot more expensive then other luggages like the $50 AmazonBasics luggage, it is because it is made of Polycarbonate, which is more expensive and more durable than ABS. - The wheels are so smooth and light. I can easily spin it around with 2 fingers. - The cup holder is very easy to open and close. Bad: - The front is not expandable. Note: Mixi is just another brand name that is made by the Chinese company Hanke that makes premium luggages.

The media could not be loaded. My main reason for making this review is to help any future buyers considering to purchase this carry-on because while I was trying to decide to buy this carry-on luggage I was extremely hesitant. It wasn't really a major or well known brand (at least not in the United States), there wasn't really much I could find in terms of reviews outside of Amazon and it was my first time buying a carry-on luggage. And so I wanted to just compile some information that I found helpful and leave them in one place to hopefully help make the next person's decision a little easier. Short Review: I'm loving the Mixi 20 inch carry-on luggage. I have yet to use it on an actual trip, but will be using on a trip coming up soon. I tested it when it arrived, which included testing the cup holder, phone stand, the handle, the charging ports, the tsa lock, the zipper, and wheels. I even filled it with clothes and rolled it around my house on hard wood floors and carpet. After all of that I can confidently say I like it and everything works fine. My only complaint is actually what I expected after reading some reviews for a similar luggage by Hanke (that I found on reddit): the handle to pole connection doesn't have a very smooth transition and so bags placed over the handle are not easily taken off. I don’t think this will be a big issue for me though, but I'll have to see with time. Long review: When I entered the carry-on luggage market I was faced with the BIG question of hard or soft shell. It was certainly overwhelming and I liked the idea of a hard shell, but hated the clam shell opening style, which was unfornately prevalent amongst all the major brands (Samsonite, Monos, Level 8, Away, July, etc.). So I thought that for this sole reason I would end up with a soft shell since I preferred the top opening design. However, I was extremely reluctant to go with a soft shell because of the lack of stand out color options. Enter stage left, Mixi. After searching for a carry-on for a few days and literally saying out loud the day before finding Mixi "I wish there was a hard shell with a soft shell's top opening design", the personalized ads brought me to Mixi via this video by a travel vlogger on youtube. The carry-on immediately piqued my interest and got me excited. I loved the the unique design, the color and the functional little features like the charging ports, cup holder and phone stand. At the same time it raised my skeptic red flags. How could a carry-on like this exist, but not be a hot topic? I didn’t really want to trust a travel vlogger and there honestly wasn't much I could find on the company, which didn't help. And so I hit the reviews. There were tons of reviews, but these two stood out the most and definitely helped me make my decision to purchase.
