Haven't run it for a terribly extended period of time (car keeps breaking down for different issues), but so far so great. While I have not experienced any issues yet, it's always a great idea to recheck the torque on the VC bolts every so often to make sure they haven't loosened or stretched. I've read it's a common issue with aluminum N54 VCs, so figured I'd pass that info on. Would also recommend an aftermarket PCV and to check the VC for burrs and casting/milling debris before installation. Hit it with an air compressor as well.

Terrible product do not buy!! I’m try to help you out here. This is more expensive than most other valve covers on Amazon personally I was expecting Amazon level quality valve cover but got bottom self temu level quality. Overall, been a terrible experience buying from here they forgot the gasket, the bolts and the PCV valve. Opening the box, there’s a Valve cover by itself, was thrown into a box with two pieces of foam… packaged without a care. The box it came in was damaged with decent sized hole and looked it was very roughed up so valve cover was dented and scratched in transit. The overall quality of the valve cover the only piece in which I received was terribly made, You can see many scoring marks with metal shavings loose and attached, as with the PCV valve missing you can see the threads that were not threaded straight. I tried putting my oem PCV valve straight off my car onto it and Wouldn’t even go half way in with a wrench on it. Even if I had received the missing gasket, bolts PCV valve and PCV valve cap, I could not use this product. Highly recommend staying away from this product and seller, save your time, money and frustrations for something else.

Two of the bolts for the cover fell out (one in the box) because of them not using the same type of holder as the rest of the bolts. Minor inconvenience but everything bolted up nicely. I ditched the included gasket & pcv valve and used an OEM gasket and the VTT pcv upgrade. Will update review if any issues pop up, but so far so good.

I have not installed this item yet as I need to modify it before I feel comfortable throwing it on my car. First, the mounting surface where it mates to the primary vc gasket is machined flat....just not all the way. This is a problem. There is a corner where the metal was not machined flat, meaning it's not true across the entire surface. And extra pass or two would have gotten this, but it may not have been possible without affecting clearances inside the valve. The fix would be that the manufacturer modify the mold to ensure plenty of material in the casting to allow of post work maching to make the mating surface completely flat. The gasket may work, but it may need some additional RTV on one corner. It's unknown at this point. As for the removable PCV portion- uneven gaps are evident along the entire mating portion. Only time will tell if the included gasket is sufficient to take up this difference or if it starts to leak. The main gasket- there's one included, but who knows the quality. There are reviews online stating that the vc bolts come loose and people have needed to re-tighten after running the car. I can only assume this is from the gasket "settling" after heat cycling. My concern is not knowing g when it will stop settling. Re-tightening will probably need to be done several times until it no longer compresses. There are no good quality viton gaskets for this car that I have found though and even the oem BMW gasket is not great, so this is not a fault of the manufacturer but something to be aware of. I havent done it yet, but I will be taking off the PCV cover to ensure there are no metal shavings before install. This is a good idea for anyone as I don't have confidence that the factory took the time to thoroughly decontaminate the vc prior to assembly.

This valve cover was bad from day 1. Besides leaking after a few weeks the biggest problem was there was no vacuum in the crankcase even though it had vacuum up to the pcv valve. Without vacuum in the crankcase the engine doesn't idle well and doesn't allow for the turbo's to drain. I messaged mitzone but had no reply and after the 30 days was up I can only receive a replacement up to 12 months. I don't have the time to constantly having to replace valve covers because of defects. I will only accept a refund only
