Mishimoto engineered the MMTC-RAM-03SL as a direct-fit replacement that installs in the stock location using just two bolts, yet delivers an extraordinary 212% increase in core volume and 244% increase in fluid capacity over the OEM unit. The 48-row stacked-plate core is constructed for maximum durability and thermal efficiency, ensuring consistent cooling even under sustained heavy loads. A major improvement over the stock design is Mishimoto's fully serviceable thermostat, accessible via a port at the top of the cooler. When the OEM thermostat fails, it fails closed — bypassing the cooler entirely and sending overheated fluid directly into the transmission. Mishimoto solves this by making the thermostat independently replaceable and including a stainless- steel bypass plug that allows owners in hot climates to lock the cooler in constant full-flow mode. Truck owners dealing with seized OEM quick-disconnect fittings will also appreciate Mishimoto's included CNC-machined stainless- steel hose barb fittings and SAE J1532-rated transmission fluid hose, which allow a clean and permanent replacement of those corrosion-prone connectors.
