- REPAIR CRACKS The durable wood filler is ideal for repairing cracks, small gouges, nail holes, knot holes, and other defects in all types of unfinished indoor and outdoor wood surfaces.
- APPLICATION STEPS - Squeeze a liberal amount of into the area to be filled and press firmly into place, using a putty knife. Fill slightly above surface to allow for sanding while minimizing overspreading on surrounding areas. Remove excess wood putty.
- QUICK DRYING - Allow the wood grain filler to dry completely. Dry time will vary depending on depth of area filled. Most common shallow repairs will dry within 2 hours. For deeper holes, fill in layers 1/4" at a time, which may require 2-6 hours to dry.

I've been using for decades. No other product compares. It has a consistency that seems "crumbly" not smooth like peanut butter. Don't be discouraged, this is how wood filler is supposed to be. Push it deep into the hole/crack/gouge/defect etc. so that it can come in full contact with all the wood you're filling so it will form and stick onto the wood. I frequently use my finger on deep hole to make sure it comes in full contact. Then I apply some more filler with a flexible blade puddy knife slightly higher than the surface. This way you'll be able to sand flush down to the surface of the wood. Sand gently letting the sandpaper do the work, pressing harder won't be any faster but most likely remove too much material and you'll end up with a dimple below the surface. Run your hand over the area as you are sanding, you'll feel when it is flush and smooth. You may get some crumbs when applying this is normal. I aways wipe those off and use a fresh batch for the next fill unless it is small like nail holes. In time you will get the hang of using the right amount to do the job. To do this I only scoop out the amount I'm going to use on the corner of my putty knife, not across the blade. this way you can look at the hole and match how much you'll need. I'm not affilated with Minwax, this is just my experience of many many years doing jobs around the house big and small from filling countersunk screw holses on outdoor furniture to replacing damage and holes on house siding.

It's a fantastic product. Used twice over the last six months. The lid needs some work. It does not close to keep the puddy from hardening. Each purchase had dried with 50% of the unused product was lost due to hardening. Could not get the lid to tighten down enough to protect the rest of the product from hardening. I tried placing the tub that it comes in to a freezer bag but still hardened beyond using it. Fix the freaken lid.

Working on a project that had super small crack. Following directions. I filled in crack. Let dry, light sand. Did one more slight fill let dry then light sand. Perfect flush. Used my stain. Match was great. Have used product before. Have always had good luck. Recommend

Easy to work with, apply and sand. Unfortunately, this product is not truly stainable. I applied this to screw holes in our new porch flooring to fill them before staining. After I applied the stain and allowed it to dry for 48 hrs, the wood filler is showing through almost as if it wasn’t stained at all. I’m really disappointed.

I used this to fill holes on my shed that were made by carpenter bees and wood peckers. The holes were really big and looked terrible from the road. It was easy to fill the holes. I used a power sander to make it smooth, though I didn't really have to and then repainted the board. It looks good as new.

I was building a piece of furniture and accidentally bent a screw which tore out a sizable hole out of a piece of wood. I needed to put the screw back in and needed something to fill the area. This stuff worked perfectly! I waited a little over two hours to make sure it dried, and the screw went in without a problem but with enough resistance to where I felt comfortable continuing to build the furniture. I didn't bother sanding it down, but the material seemed like it had a nice grit to do so without issue. Definitely recommend if you're in a furniture construction bind!
