I bought this kite because my 76-year-old dad wanted to fly a kite again for Father's Day. He had purchased a cheap one at a drug store and couldn't make it fly because it was poorly made. I unpacked this one, popped the spine brace in, popped the cross beam in, clipped on the string, and we were outside flying it in no time! He was delighted! It literally went flying on the first try and stayed up nicely. My favorite part is the fishing lure type clip assembly on the end of the string so I didn't have to worry about tying any knots and hoping they'd hold to attach the kite to the string line. It's foolproof! Well done, kite makers! The only issue I had was that we could barely see the blue ray against the blue sky when we had it out at the very end of the string. If I were to purchase another one, I'd get a brighter color that stood out better against the blue sky. But I would buy it from here! ... show more

First, the kite works well in most winds. It looks great. As a retired person, I enjoyed flying the kites on the beach in south Texas. The only negative is that the support poles fail. After 4 emails, Mint has agreed to send a new kite. I am awaiting shipment.

I ordered this kite last-minute for a trip to the beach. I haven't flown a kite in years but it was super easy to assemble and took off right away on the windy beach. It flew high but we didn't let it out anywhere near the end of the string (for fear of some nearby trees). It survived a bit of a crash landing toward the end while reeling it in.
