Description

With any kite, the bigger the wing the more you’ll feel the power of the wind. The 200 is the biggest of the three Synapses and when the wind comes up it’s got enough pull to give you a workout! When the breeze is light that extra sail area will keep it aloft when smaller kites are struggling. The larger wing also makes it a little slower in flight. So you get more time to react and more feedback through the lines, especially in lighter winds when you need extra sensitivity to feel the controls. Comes ready to fly with no assembly required. Includes ultra low-stretch Dyneema flying lines, flight straps and line winder in a compact drawstring pouch.

  • Endless Fun Even for an Adult
I added a 70ft colorful tail to this and it is an absolute joy to fly. I can't get through a 30min session without children and adults coming over from around the park to comment or ask to learn to fly it. It's a neighborhood hit! People's faces light up with joy the first time they're able to control it (which can be a challenge at first: kids with video game skills seem to have a knack with it I noticed, as if it were a Mario Party mini-game where you're figuring out the controls for the first time). Pro-tip if you're solo and struggling to launch it-- use a soccer goal to lay the kite out flat across the backside of the goal netting, ideally with the wind pressing the kite into the netting. It will stay there while you walk back to the end of the strings, and can simply pull back and have the kite launch right off the netting and into the air. Be careful to avoid snagging the netting anywhere (especially if you have a long tail attached!) The kite is indestructible and can crater into the ground at 30mph endlessly with at most a string tangle. Flying the kite with a long, colorful tail is by far the most entertaining and mesmerizing, but always requires an extra ~5mph+ of wind to keep the extra weight/drag airborne if you're flying on a light day. Dropping the tail is a good idea in that case. ... show more

  • Great intermediate kite
We just moved to a VERY windy city, so this makes going outside more fun. Great beginner/intermediate level, it takes some serious muscle to maneuver when the wind really picks up. Fun kite! I'd say it takes 2 people, one at the handles to steer and fly it and 1 down at the kite to hold it up to more easily catch a gust and get it going ... show more

  • Wow that’s what I like
I thought the Model 140 was a bit squirely but this one is strong and smoothly maneuverable. A decent wind will have you dancing around to keep up and it seems easier to spin. Great with a tail.

  • THIS IS NOT THE KITE YOU FLEW AS A KID
This is a pretty powerful kite that is capable of dragging you around. I weigh close to 200 pounds and with a gust it can cause be to take a hop or two. I can launch it myself by placing it against something such as a pole. Well built and highly responsive.

  • Stitching defective on one area.
Seemed to fly semi ok but the stitching was defective and appeared to connect 2 of the air tunnels (sorry, don’t know the terminology). See picture. This is my 4th prism kite. 2 of them were defective.

  • Windy town equals lots of fun!!
We got this for our son and he loves it! We live in a very windy town and the boys have a blast using this. It is great and easy for my kids to go out and use on their own!

  • Flies great
Very easy kit to fly. has a decent pull with 15 mph winds

  • Great fun with good winds
I read the other review and was sad to see that his broke. I don’t know what broke about it or what winds he was flying the kite in. Hopefully, it was just one of the lines breaking, which can be remedied with stronger lines. If it was something else, I’d be interested to know. I bought my Synapse 200 a few weeks ago and have flown it several times. I’ll admit that the first time I flew it, I only wished that I had bought a bigger one with even more pull. Still, this thing is a blast in 15+mph winds. I weigh over 200lbs and I can’t stand in one place if the winds are good. If you weigh less than that, you’ll love this kite even more. Easy to learn on. I wouldn’t fly it in winds under 10mph. ... show more
