  • Prism Synapse 140...KAAA-CHING!!!
Style: Synapse 140 - Cilantro (old) Pattern Name: Parafoil Kite
Full disclosure...I'm very frugal with toy buying. I don't mind spending money on toys, but nothing ticks me off more than buying something that the kids barely use and then just toss aside...!!!!! Keep this in mind. I'm an experienced flyer...from other stunt kites and various R/C machines to a two-seat full size A/C. But now I'm teaching my 10yo son to fly. We have some R/C stuff, but when it gets too windy...they're grounded. I really should've put more effort into stunt kites with him earlier, but better now than never. I just haven't done it in years and forgot how much fun it can be. I now wish I had gotten a parafoil for myself way back when. But they were (to me anyways) expensive and hard to come across. Yeah...I'm talking pre-interweb days here. We started with a cheap, fiberglass rod framed Delta style 2 line. It was great...because it got him hooked! Even with less than optimal wind conditions (gusty and inconsistent). But...I knew it's time would be short. After 2 days of some pretty good flying and numerous impacts, the little trooper gave out with a straight-in high speed nosedive that shattered the main longeron. No matter...it served it's purpose and it's still repairable and will fly again. And I had already ordered this after the first day, knowing that he was into it. Had I known what I know now...I'd have spent what is essentially double the price to get this one right off the bat. Even my 12yo daughter tried it out with us and had great success, asking for another turn, and another turn...so I got two kids into the same thing for the price of one. Heck yeah...a win for dad...I'll take it!!! If you're not crashing...then you're just not flying. Either that or you have a giant fan behind you blowing a perfectly steady stream of air while you're standing on the edge of a cliff and the ground is 100 below you. Between the two kids this awesome little fabric wing has smashed into the ground repeatedly and suffered no more than a few spots of dirt on it...!!! I don't see them getting bored with it for quite a while. Because this is FLYING...there's always more to learn. And when you've mastered one aircraft...you move onto another one that gives you a whole new set of parameters to explore and learn all over again. I've already ordered a much larger parafoil for me to fly with them and give them something to look forward to when they become proficient with this one. I've spent more than this just taking them to the movies. Now...imagine buying a set of movie tickets that are good for years...anytime the wind starts blowing. Honestly...it's just incredible that I can spend such a small amount of money to get such a well designed and crafted item delivered to my door in such a short amount of time. And if you're not buying this for kids or anyone else...yes...you'll LOVE it. PERFECT for learning on and a blast once you do. I love flying everything from paper airplanes to Cessnas and have dream airplanes like most guys have dream cars. Whether you're 9 or 99, flying is a physically and mentally engaging activity that gives back a sense of enjoyment and accomplishment equal or greater than what you put into it. You can't go wrong with this one. Everything is as described and pictured, with high quality materials and workmanship. I know it'll last for years. ... show more

  • Fast intermediate kite, fun to fly, flies on rails, needs a little bit of wind to fly!
Style: Synapse 140 - Cilantro (old) Pattern Name: Parafoil Kite
I have had this kite a while and realized I haven't left a review. I have been flying sport kits since I was a kid and thought this would be a great travel kite. It does pack super small, it is great as a pack away kite. I take it on the boat and fly it at the sand bar. As far as flying though, its not as easy as I thought it would be. It flies very fast and likes a little bit of wind. It can be a challenging handful at times. It does fly well, I am not saying its a bad flying kite, I just expected it to be better for beginners. Being that there are no spars, it is very durable and takes a crash well. I am very happy with it ... show more

Style: Synapse 140 - Cilantro Pattern Name: Parafoil Kite
This kite is so much fun, it's incredible!! Great color and size and good for beginners to pros. If new to stunt kits, this is a great way place to start. Easy to learn to fly in steady light to moderate windand hours of enjoyment after.

  • Worth it!
Style: Synapse 140 - Cilantro Pattern Name: Parafoil Kite
Great flyer and easy to learn. Instructions for self launching with a bit of sand on the trailing edge worked perfectly. After many crashes with the kids learning or myself pushing the limits there was no visible damage. Loads of fun!! Will be buying more for friends and family

  • Fun kite
Style: Synapse 140 - Cilantro Pattern Name: Parafoil Kite
Is as advertised and for the price not bad, it can crash without breaking and comes with a nice bag. Lot of fun for the kids. I would choose a bigger size next time though, this one is really fast.

  • High quality product
Style: Synapse 200 - Coho (old) Pattern Name: Parafoil Kite
I was out flying my kite today and thought it was finally time to write a review—my first since buying it in 2017. This is a high-quality kite that I expect will last for decades. Mine is still in great shape after all these years. The colors remain vibrant, and the lines are made of very good material. It flies smoothly and handles well, picking up speed easily while remaining stable in the air. It’s great for practicing shapes and maneuvers. I would highly recommend Prism and this particular kite to anyone interested in getting into dual-line kites. It’s a very reliable and well-made product. ... show more

  • Great trick kite for the beach!
Style: Synapse 140 - Cilantro Pattern Name: Parafoil Kite
This kite is amazing. It is super compact, handles well, and is very durable. It took some hard crashes on a particularly windy day at the beach and came out unscathed. Fun for kids and adults!

  • Strings Tangle Nightmare
Style: Synapse 140 - Cilantro (old) Pattern Name: Parafoil Kite
Read the reviews - everything said it was easy to use for a first timer and was convenient for anyone looking to get into kite flying. Even read reviews with kids using this. I'm no genius but I participate in martial arts, extreme sports, run my own business and consider myself capable of handling most things I set my mind to. That didn't matter with this kite because unfortunately whoever put it together sent it to us already tangled up. The blue and red lines were crossed into eachother where it connected to the kite. This made it impossible to fly. As it would go up and then instantly turn hard one direction and crash down. Once we got that part untangled and spooled all the string out we quickly learned that was a huge mistake. The string they chose may be capable of handling the stress but it is absolutely the worst possible string to use. If the string runs up against itself it curves and knots instantly. Any friction and you've got knots. It quickly turns to a mess that takes hours to get undone. I've spent the majority of the time I had today on the first day using the kite untangling a mess of knots in one of the two lines. You may read this and think - well don't let it tangle. Know how to handle lines. Well let me put it this way - I Spearfish and let line out attached to a fish underwater with gear and a fish swimming hard for its life and I've had less problems than I had with this like today. Whoever owns this company should consider upgrading to something braided. ... show more
