    • Came in damanged
The item itself is great however when we received it the package was damaged in shipping. We had a broken prop and and bent shaft. The great thing about Minn Kota was we took our sales receipt to a local repair shop for the manufacture and was able to have everything fixed under warranty.

    • It looks like relays are not working properly
I bought this trolling motor on June 6, 2017. Last Saturday (October 14, 2017), the motor stopped running after 4 months. I used the trolling motor less than 10 times. It looks like relays are not working properly, because when I connect the trolling motor to the battery, I can hear some circus brake inside of the electronic compartment. The Power Prop start spinning immediately when the trolling motor is connected to the battery, even when it is in the off mode. When I turn the speed control handle to 100% power, the Power Prop would spin very slowly. Also, the Power Prop would not spin in reverse mode. I am very upset that this happened with generally such a good quality trolling motor. ... show more

    • Great Motor for the money *Edit*
Well it showed up on time and I was able to use it the first weekend I had it. Got out on the water and turned it on. It shook the whole boat and I thought some thing must be out of balance or broken. Well after trying a different prop and getting the same results I found a bent prop shaft. So I called Minn Kota and spoke to them, they said it most likely happened during shipping. Either way it was bent and I was not happy. I called Amazon and they overnighted me a new one. I've yet to run it but the shaft looks straight. If I find another defect I will update this review. 4 stars not 5 because of the problem. 2nd unit showed up and had a defect also. Watch this video and see/hear for yourself. I'm very disappointed with Q.T from Minn Kota. I have a 3rd unit coming and will give them one more chance. 2 stars is my new rating from 4 until I see a reason to go up.[...] ... show more

I placed it on my 24 ft. pontoon and it performed great using a standard lead acid battery at 50 percent trolling speed for 4 hrs..with less than 50 percent draw on the battery and yes it pushed this pontoon beautifully!

Mated a group 29 battery with this motor and it will go all day with my 15 ft Alumaweld flatbottom river boat with a 80 hp main motor. It's not a light runabout boat either! And it has enough power to move me well in a current. Love these motors!

When I received the trolling motor I hooked it to the battery and tried it out. It only worked in low speed and sounded like something was broken when twisting the handle.
