I was planning on modifying my drill press to use as a lightweight milling machine. This compound table was perfect for that application. I'm happy with the purchase. Apparently, based on the reviews, this "Large" version is much better than the 2 smaller ones. I was impressed with the ball bearings on the rails and overall impressed with the product. As for converting your drill press to even a lightweight milling machine, good luck with that. After spending a couple hundred dollars on conversion to collets, shrink fitting the collet holder to the press spindle etc. it was obvious the standard bench top drill press is not anywhere near ridged enough to mill even aluminum. So I will keep this device as its great for drilling precision located holes etc. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Really excellent little mill table for the money. Make sure you realize the smaller size. It has about 7” travel on the X axis and 2” on the Y axis. I was impressed by how solid it is. The table is formed aluminum and appears to be perfectly flat. I put a square on it and it’s square. The base is cast iron. It weights 12.5 lbs and the base to the top of the table is 4.75” ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Better than I expected. By the picture I though the base was plastic and didn’t like the idea but nope, it’s aluminum. The whole body it’s aluminum. It’s pretty good for simple precision jobs.

Accurately described, shipped quickly. May be missing a few M8 bolts but I have enough extras from other projects. Got this for lighht duty machining (plastics and aluminum), very nice movement little drift noted.

For the price, a great little tool. I only use it for milling aluminum or softer materials and it works great for that. You would likely have a hard time with anything harder to mill than that. The weakest point I found was the base itself. Make sure to use 4 bolts if possible otherwise you may get some flex ... show more

I did like the next day shipping even though I had to return the item. After reading all the Pro and Con comments, I ordered and paid for the LARGE version with the Linear Bearings on the X and Y Axis due to the beefier mechanics and the small cost difference. Notice the photo of the received unit does not have the Linear Bearings. I expected the best but received somewhat less than I paid for. The model shipped to me came in a box that appeared to have been opened more than a few times. Some of the labeling on the box had been removed or covered by some blank stick-on labels. There was no model number anywhere on the box so shipping the wrong model was understandable. In addition to all that, there was none of the attachment items, crank handles, clamps etc. anywhere to be found in the shipping box. I suspect that I have received a previously returned item. Totally unacceptable! Amazon is immediately shipping me an exact replacement for the one I ordered... I hope they don't send me an exact replacement for the one I received. UPDATE... Amazon came through again. The 2nd shipment arrived in the same type unmarked box (except for a factory number on the side). The new LARGE unit is exactly as described. There is a little backlash in the X-direction that may be able to be adjusted out. The Y-direction is positive and very little backlash. Very usable as-is. I will be attaching dial indicators to both Axis so any backlash not adjusted out will not be a problem. I don't know why the company is making the 2 smaller items, the difference between the medium and LARGE size is night and day. The smallest size must really be terrible compared to the 2 that I have reviewed. Overall... I am happy with my purchase and ready to put it and my tabletop drill press together and have some productive playtime this weekend. ... show more

I didn't need a super heavy duty XY vise, so I tried this one. It has a little play but so does the drill chuck spindle. This heavy model meets the objective for the project at hand. If I had a requirement for a sturdier vise, I would have tried the Grizxly. The weighs 60 pounds, this one weighs about twenty pounds. The light has plastic end caps, the medium has metal, the heavy model has thicker metal end caps, and deluxe clamps for the work piece. ... show more

a bit wobley and definitely needs a better clamp system. I trusted the oem and now I must order a new Part to try again as it shifted unexpectedly and destroyed my project. 100 lesson on buying better quality no matter how many uses you need.
