QC needs to reject more products. The bag and box it came in had zero damage. The deck of the aluminum had gauges, deep scratches and looks like someone hit it with a punch. Photos added. Excuse the dirty hands. Amazon are sending a replacement. After looking over the rest of the product. It is good value for money. The tension screws are set in so tight you can't move the table out of the box. It seems to move 0.15mm per full rotation. Have not been able to use it yet. The vice appears to be sturdy and stable. The description in the advertisement was good. The delivery was prompt. The vice does not come with bolts to hold it down. My delivery was on New Years Eve and therefore I have not been able to purchase the appropriate bolts to make the final attachments. ... show more

Even after tightening all the adjustments, theres too much play when trying to use it on even soft metal like aluminum. It causes my drill bit to jump or create chatter marks. For $33 i figured it would be cheap enough to just try it out for what i needed.

It's absolutely not the most accurate, but it's expected at the price it is. With that said I would put in a pin on the x and y bolts opposite the handles as they really like to come off first thing when you get it.

I'm using it as an X-Y vice rather than a milling machine. I have no doubt that it would fail as a milling machine. As a vice, it allows for decently precise positioning - even though there's play in it, but with care it can be used. The clamps are badly designed, but you can get better screws in a hardware store. Overall, I would have preferred to pay for a better tool, but this is the only X-Y vice that is lowe enough for my drill press. And it does the job. ... show more

I bought this to be able to mill a couple cuts in aluminum using my benchtop drill press. It worked well for the task and was much cleaner then using a dremel type tool. The cost was about the same as having the work done by a professional machine shop once you factor in the end mill bits, but now I have some tooling for the next project. It's certainly not a precision piece of equipment, but for works for the types of tasks that I, as a non-machinst, would be attempting to do on my drill press. ... show more
