Seems to be 2 Foundries in China that Casts Mini Lathe Bases then sells them to Various Manufacturers. Most common type shows Casting Base that Curves up from 1 Base Foot then down to other foot. Less Common type has HD Square Feet with Casting going Straight-Up to Bed, straight over, then down to other foot, with no curve. This Square Type is shown in 1st Photo & Was Lathe Shown in Ad when I Bought 2/25/26. BUT, that's NOT Lathe I received. During 3 Weeks Delivery from Texas Warehouse Seller CHANGED all Photos in Ad to Curved Bed Type. See 2nd & 3rd Photo. Pluses & Negatives; Pluses; 1 -- Very Cheap Price $839.00 2 -- Arrived in Perfect Condition & Well oiled & with all Parts 3 -- CEVA Delivery Co. Very Slow But Delivered it well with Power Tailgate & 2 Guys Negatives; 1 -- This is NOT Lathe in Ad I Ordered! Different Casting Bed & Different Control! Can't say if better or worse. 2 -- No Response from Amazon or Vendor. I think these are just resellers who Buy & Sell out of warehouses with NO Knowledge at All of Items. 3 - Had looked at this type Lathe before & it's acceptable for me, But NOT what I ordered! 4 - Other type had Indexable Cross-Slide, this lathe does not do that 5 - Operators Manual is Very Basic, Exploded Parts Diagram has NO Part Numbers! How & Where are you going to get Parts? 6 - Manual does NOT Say who Made Lathe, No Co. Name, No Address, No Phone Numbers, No Website address, No Email, NOTHING! 7 - Warranty says Parts have to be returned for Examination, Good Luck with That! 8 - I am CNC Machine Service Engineer with 49 years Experience & I don't believe Tiny Motor is 1100 Watts which would be 1 1/2 HP, seems Weak 9 - I'm taking Lathe Apart, Piece by Piece & washing out Iron Grit, relubeing with Moly Grease & Adjusting & Shimming some of the Slop out. Not everyone can do this & Need Lots of Metric Tools. 10 - Power Ground not working because Ground-Ring on Heavy Painted Surface which I had to sand away 11 - Be sure what you are Ordering, some ad's flip between 24 & 30 inch beds, I needed 30 inch & that is what I got 12 - This, like all Cheap China lathes, is a Hobby lathe. Some vendors sell this Same Lathe at Higher Price & Claim theirs is Better, but reviews do NOT back that up. If you need a really good lathe, buy a 50 year old US or UK Made Machine. ... show more
