  • Meh
I mean it works, but it just wasn’t strong enough to secure the rock I was drilling into. So it doesn’t work in that regard for me, but maybe if you were doing something like not drilling into something, then it would work. Like a lighter application. Definitely the best for someone who wants a clamp, but doesn’t want to use it. ... show more

  • Great for working with rocks and gem stones
Holds small rocks and gem stones nicely. Makes grinding, cutting and polishing much easier

  • Smaller than it appears

  • Ehh could be better and has potential if it was slightly bigger
Not as big as I thought it would be, even after reading reviews and specs it still is smaller than I thought it would be. Only works on small watches, no medium or large.

  • Useful but Cheaply Made
This is cheap and cheerful bench vise really is tiny. Fortunately, it is just what my husband needed. He makes models, modifies 1/6 figures, RC vehicles, electric guitars and odd jobs around the house. Usually, he uses this clamp to hold small items that he needs to saw or file. He recently used it to modify tiny shoes to fit one of his 1/6 figures. He needed to cut a plastic rod with a ball socket at each end and embed it in the shoes so he could attach the shoes to the poseable figure. The rod fit securely between the pins with a small gap that allows a mini hack saw to fit between them. It made cutting the rod in half easy. The regular metal vise claws are a little more fiddly and are best used for flat objects. My husband He did use it to cut a machine screw shorter but it slipped when he grabbed it by the head. The vise is cheaply molded from aluminum but it mounts securely to a desk and despite feeling a little loose it will tighten and hold something securely. Its grips could do with some slide on caps for a better grip. Fortunately, it’s easy to make your own by bending a thin aluminum sheet. You can do the bend with the vice and even glue some rubber pads on. If you bought the vise then you probably have the skills to make those quickly if you need them. The vice works well even though it’s cheaply made. It still does its job and if used as intended for working on small items, it can be a really useful addition to your tool box. ... show more

  • Very small, very lightweight, and overall of lower quality than desirable even for a home shop.
This is a tiny lightweight bench vise. The casting is of poor overall quality and the entire unit has a great deal of play, making it difficult to use with any degree of precision. The plastic holders at the top (the yellow parts), if installed, make it impossible to close the vise fully. The base clamp has a sharp center point which will damage the underside surface of the table on which the vise is mounted. All of the plastic bits (both the yellow and red parts) are hard plastic, also poorly molded, and have the occasional sharp edge unless sanded down at some point. The vise works, and it will, for example, hold a small piece of wood or metal in place for drilling or painting, but I suspect this won't have a particularly long service life. ... show more
