  • By harnessing the power, performance and run-time, this tool delivers corded performance that allows users to power through the most demanding applications

Description

The M18 7" Variable Speed Polisher is the world’s first cordless full-size rotary polisher. By harnessing the power, performance and run-time of M18 technology, this tool delivers corded performance that allows users to power through the most demanding applications. At more than 1 lb. lighter than corded, and the ability to deliver total control through a variable speed dial and trigger, the new M18 Polisher frees users from the extra work, distractions, paint damage, and inconvenience caused by cords. Paired with M18 XC5.0 batteries, the M18 Polisher can complete a full size car on one charge when working on moderate to good paint. The M18 FUEL Polisher is equipped with a rubber over mold front housing to protect the paint from scratches in use as well as a removable dust cover to protect the motor and electronics from wool fibers and residue. The new tool is designed to distribute more of its weight over the pad, providing natural pressure on the surface area and more.

  • Light and convenient
TL;DR at the end This buffer replaced my DeWalt dwp849x for every day use. The Milwaukee is much lighter, even with the battery on. The weight of the wired buffers I have used never bothered me, but the light weight of this one is just plain nice. The absolute convenience of not having to run a cord, drag a cord, yank the cord, position the cord, accidentally unplug from the cord when it gets caught on a tire, drag the cord back, and repeat the process for every car I do during the day is such a relief. The trigger is very sensitive, it takes some practice not to immediately kick it into high gear. This is the cause of a lot of splattered compound. I find myself manually adjusting the speed constantly to compensate. Like the DeWalt, the rpm roller does give you an actual rpm for that setting, unlike a lot of buffers which are simply numbered in a range like 1-5 and you have to figure it out. It ranges from 600rpm (you are pretty sure you wetsanded too much) to 2200rpm (too much to do, too little time) which is perfect for 95% of what you need to do. The buffer handles torque like a boss. If you ever feel inclined to put a little pressure down (you know you do sometimes) you won't feel a difference in the speed at all. This buffer is very pitchy, especially toward the end of the battery. I would say add ear plugs of some sort to your personal protective equipment. Like I said before, the convenience is incredible. I don't dread spotting one last scratch on the car after putting the buffer away. I can just pick it up, buff the spot and move on. It's fantastic. The adjustable G shaped handle is afterthought plastic. If you have used one you have used them all. The stick handle is comfortable enough though. Light weight but rigid like the buffer, you won't feel like you are missing anything. I'm going to throw some bike grip tape (no adhesive backing! Don't make it sticky) on mine for some extra sponginess like with the old buffer, but it's fine without it. I'm reviewing the batteries separately, but for a quick mention, I have 2 5Ah batteries. True to claim I can buff an entire car on one charge (I'm talking every panel and pulling my swirls). For spot buffing they last 4-5 cars. I have found I can charge one battery while running out the other, so I don't have to sweat being out of juice. TL; DR Convenience 11/10 Weight 10/10 Endurance 10/10 Comfort 10/10 Buffing experience 8/10 (compared to a few name brand wired buffers) Noise 5/10 Would buy again even if it was more expensive 10/10 ... show more

  • car enthusiast
i bought this Milwaukee brushless cordless 7" polisher and i love it. i used to detail cars when i was younger and now i have a nice sports car that i enjoy cleaning and detailing. i bought this polisher so i could really get into some paint restoration and this thing works amazing. the trigger allows you to start as slow or as fast as you want its light weight and super convenient to use. absolutely recommend this polisher. you will need a few extra batteries charged and ready to go to finish an entire car but the convenience of no cord is worth it. ... show more

  • Best Cordless Buffer!!!
I am gonna be totally honest In this review, cause most people would hesitate to invest in a cordless buffer or have doubts.. But to help people make a decision when it comes to investing in this buffer, let me tell you... I have worked as a automotive detailer for 6 years. And in that time using a corded buffer, having to drag it around or putting the cord over your shoulder. It gets tiring. But having a Milwaukee buffer is like a dream come true. Been using it for a month now, and I do alot of wersanding and paint correction, and this buffer does absolutely amazing. I love that I don't have to worry about a cord and it's not heavy at all. It's perfectly balanced and feels strudy. It goes up to 2200 RPM. But if has variable speed, so that helps out alot too. I do alot of heavy jobs with this buffer and it definitely is worth the investment if your into buffing or working in the automotive industry. Make sure to buy extra batteries just to get you through the day.. I also recommend a rapid charger If you plan on using it for work. But overall I do highly recommend this buffer. ... show more

  • Great Buffer/polisher
First time using a battery powered buffer and caught myself wondering why on earth I waited so long to buy it. Plenty of power, very easy to control speed, and very convenient to use over a corded one (which I had). It comes with both the side handle and D style top handle plus an additional vent screen, has a very nice hook and loop pad for bonnet/polisher. I am very impressed with this purchase and already own many other Milwaukee tools so have plenty of batteries available to use on it, highly recommend. ... show more

  • Great rotary
Very convenient to use. I would suggest getting two batteries when using this rotary cause it drains them pretty quickly.
