Awesome product! It's a bit loose around the middle, but I'm a pretty small gal and don't mind the excess leash to be honest, it's nice that it isn't tight around my waist, especially during this summer heat! Love the color, love the part of the hands free leash where my dog can easily switch what side of me she is on, this is really helpful for our races!! And most importantly, my pup loves it and did great with the switch between a normal leash and this handsfree one. It seems like she may prefer this one as she is a little skiddish with hand-held leashes and I've noticed she is more calm on our runs with this hands-free leash! 10/10 would recommend this product!

Initially I wasn't thrilled about this leash. I bought it because I run 5k races with my 65lb dog and wanted something hands free. This leash is 36-inches, which gives your dog enough room to run BY YOUR SIDE. If you like your dog to run in front of you then you'll find this leash to be too short, as I have and was constantly kicking the back of my dogs paws until he ran by my side. However,I find this leash is GREAT for walks. Mighty Paw does make a 48-inch version which I'm absolutely in love with! It's just long enough to run with your dog in front of you without accidentally kicking them. I did originally by an extender for the 3-foot leash, but find that the extra metal clip really weighs it down. From here on I'll review both leashes since I already mentioned the only difference. At first I thought the waist strap/belt would be uncomfortably, but I find it to be comfortable when running and very easy to adjust. It has a plastic quick release buckle (great safety feature!) and 2 metal loops, one sewn in near the buckle, then other you can adjust to place anywhere on the belt by sliding it. This is an excellent feature because you can take your dog off-leash and clip the extra end to the second loop. That way you can walk around with the leash hanging at your side and still remain hands free! This works great for trail running and still works well with the 4-foot leash even though it is slightly longer. The leash part itself has 2 metal clip ends which makes it very versatile. One end has bungee all the way down to the clip, the other end has a ~10 inch section of flat doubled leash so when you stop at a road or people are passing, you can reach down and use it as a handle to keep your dog really close to your side. Another function I love! This way I don't have a dog pulling me by bungee to greet people or other dogs. The bungee is protected by an outer layer that has reflective stitching throughout. At first glance it looks dull, but light reflects off it very well. The bungee is VERY STRONG. it has just enough give so if your dog takes off after a squirrel it won't snap like a regular leash, instead it will offer enough resistance to protect you and slow your dog down. My dog's first experience he found he could grab the leash in his mouth, jump off to the side really hard then let the bungee bounce him back into me. He played yo-yo like this for a good 15 mins, I was laughing so hard I couldn't stand! Again my dog is 65lbs, so yes it's a strong bungee and doesn't have any signs of being out-stretched. Bottom line: Mighty Paw made an awesome leash! If you like your dog by your side, buy the 3-foot. If you like him running ahead of you, wait until the 4-foot leash is on sale (I think at the end of this month?).

Walked my dog with it this morning. She’s a pulled or rather just likes to walk fast (keep up ma ma!) It attaches to most collars and is supposed to be able to handle more then one dog. In the past I used a regular leash, wrapped around my waist, which would cinch up when she pulled from one side to the other. This has a sliding loop which runs along the waist attachment. No more cinching! The leash portion has a stretchy/ bungee cord type feel to it and greatly reduced the tension when she saw a squirrel. (Just imagine it!) I think I will never have whiplash from her again! (One can only hope, right?) I do not attach the leash to a typical collar, as she (my Mail/shepherd mix) is STRONG, and I need the added security of a harness. She isn’t crazy about the harness, but must notice the difference the bungee makes, as well as I do. No neck pulling and she just marches along in search of the elusive critter. I found I wasn’t as concerned with keeping an eye out for critters as I usually am. In the past she could catch me off my watch and lunge, tweaking my back and neck. Now I walk hands free and have a handy grab loop which is sturdily secured to the leash. There are two additional loops attached to the waist strap which you can clip a water bottle to, or pouch with poo bags. I haven’t tried those but I feel like if I did it would work great, (if you don’t mind something bumping against you while you walk.) If you are looking for something like this, rest assured you can stop now and buy it immediately! Hands down the best waist leash I ever used.

The Mighty Paw Hands Free Bungee Leash 2.0 with Dual Padded Traffic Handles for Running, Hiking & Jogging does the things it says it does. It is a great hands-off leash, the padding is nice, the handles have a good placement for a large, lean and muscular dog (65lbs), who has a tendency to pull or at least lean against the leash with their whole weight. The leash is exactly how I expect a bungee leash to be and it doesn't lose bungeeness so far. The belt part ... The belt part is objectively also great and does its job flawlessly. However, I am a very small person and my body hurts after a long walk as if I had a horizontal bruise across my lower back/waist area. After multiple long walks over a couple months I can tell you - bruises are not visible but my back is pressure-sensitive and it's uncomfortable. I still use it everyday since it is amazing otherwise and gives me better control over my dog. If the belt could get an upgrade to a wider cushioned back zone or kind of a slip-on add-on back cushion, like the ones for Canicross, I would buy it immediately. Conclusion: Great leash for big dogs, very good visibility, more control over dog, fewer tangles, better stability and overall greatness - but causes persistent lower back/waist pain/pressure sensitivity. So, Mighty Paw send me an offer! I want the back cushion! Please!
