My Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) is a puller. He’s a couple years old now & about 65lbs, and we’d been using a harness on him for over half his lifetime, but it definitely didn’t help his pulling, and in fact, I ended up losing my engagement ring from all his pulling trying to get at the ducks in the park, I managed to keep from tumbling onto my butt, but in the process my engagement ring slipped off, never to be seen again (BUT good thing my fiancé bought insurance on it and it’s currently being replaced 😉👏🥰 ). So I started looking into other types of leashes, and lo and behold, I stumbled onto this little beauty, and I am so glad I did! He can’t pull NEARLY as badly as he could in the harness (which baffles me, as I thought surely something going around his back and neck would allow for better control, but NOPE). And I can let it all the way out when we walk through fields so he has room to explore, but still on the leash. This leash is AMAZING so far. Only had occasion to use it few times so far, but it’s worked like a charm. It seems to be well constructed and durable, and I have complete control and confidence when walking him that he can’t just bolt or takeoff like he could with the harness. The color blue is a great blue (yes, I like color coordinating his items, and blue is definitely his color😇) length is great, the handle is sturdy, doesn’t feel cheap, but doesn’t feel heavy, bulky or cumbersome either. And I LOVE the retractability of it! I anticipate the durability will be pretty good, but will come back and update if this turns out NoT to be the case. But for now, TWO THUMBS UP!!! 💕 ... show more

Have had this a year and a half and it has been a great leash for my small cat. It is well made regularly enduring tosses onto the crushed stone under my porch, where it is dragged to the other side of the porch where I meet the cat again to pick it up. :o) And the locking mechanism works well and stops her short when she darts for an unwitting critter. ... show more

I bought this since my dog normally pulls to go further than I want to go. She still pulls at times but this helped to reduce that. Because this is a heavy duty leash, I trusted it would hold her pulls. However, after a couple of months, the lock no longer works.... I can still press on the lock and hold the length I want but it will no longer hold the lock by itself. It still work and I am glad it holds her pulls well so not mad at it. ... show more

    • Worked for about 3 months then had an almost complete tear

It seemed to work great for about 3 months then had a tear next to the hook clip sewed it up still use it The case of the leash seems to be like a hollow plastic it has been dropped a few times and hasn't broken just have be careful when using it on dogs since it might break off anytime.
