Best purchase I’ve made in a while. Used this for the gym. I only used as a bookbag but I kept a basketball (size 7) and my sneakers (size 13) with no issue on space. A great weight but can get heavy if not packed correctly. With it doubling as a duffle bag, packing will take trial and error because when it goes from horizontal to vertical things change & now you have something constantly poking you in your back. It’s has pockets galore, to the point I’m still discovering pockets & slots I never noticed. I put the bag through the wringer, it survived snow , rain , a dog attack and no scuffs or scratches to boot. But the bag I recommend the biggest size or the one right below it and you’ll have all of your prayers answered.

I will say that as I was using it, I noticed that the straps do not curve inward away from the shoulders and this created a lot of discomfort for me. The straps do curve, but at the wrong end, maybe. Great brand, great bag, but I am small in stature and the straps are made to be very durable, however they are also made for a larger person. This bag can take a lot of weight with no problem. I filled it to the brim with clothes but I have no doubt it can take heavier objects, anything you need in the field will be fine. The walls are sturdy and not easy to tear, the storage is ample, true 90 liters, the pockets are easy to get into, and the positioning prevents things from getting loose and falling out. Zippers are sturdy and plastic and metal, the zipper line is plastic, the zipper catch is metal with smooth zipping. Very secure bag. I recommend this for camping and other ventures, def good for hunting. Waterproof as I tried it out in full rain, everything kept perfecly dry. This is built to last, no flimsy seams, no sloppy sewing in the seams. I will defnitely be buying this brand again. Actually, I already did, just got the smaller version of this bag, as the 90 liters was a mistake for my weight capacity. This is a very no nonsense unit very thoughtfully put together.

This is such a great bag for weekend trips or camping trips. I also use it for a gym bag, so it’s nice that they have the inner pocket in the side pocket. I love that the bag comes with both the backpack straps and the regular duffel sling because I can bike to the gym with it on my back, but don’t want it to be a backpack all of the time. The material is great and durable - similar to those expensive north face ones. Plus, the colors are great. Main qualms are this: when backpack straps are on, it is difficult to zip and unzip. I don’t know how you would really circumvent this issue, but i find that the overhang over the zipper contributes to this issue. That overhang is nice for extra protection however. I also wish there were a few more smaller pockets. There’s a really small thin side pocket that runs parallel to the bags length and then one side of the barrel that opens up. I wish both sides opened.

I was looking for a duffel backpack that can be used for gym and work. There are many bags out there that have laptop compartment but they’re never comfortable when in use in real life scenario. You’re better off just getting a sturdy laptop case (I recommend Tomtoc or Thule) and using it without a laptop compartment within a strong bag (just my recommendation). That’s where this bag by MIER comes in. The end pocket is perfect for shower sandals and soiled clothes. The main compartment is big and perfect to put in first the laptop, followed by shower toiletry bag, and change of clothes. The zip internal pocket and the external side pocket are big enough to hold your phone, wallet, keys, and everything else. I’ve tried Under Armour, North Face, but this bag does it for me. One thing you’ll have to get used to is the width of the backpack strap. They’re comfortable but really wide. Just something for you to know.

I debated purchasing the MIER Large Duffel Backpack for quite sometime. It was difficult to see if it was well-made and sturdy. When I received it, I'm glad I purchased it based on these two points. The first duffel backpack I purchased was coming apart at the seams. Customer service contacted me through this review, immediately, and offered to send a replacement. The company representative was very attentive and responsive to my questions and messages. A replacement was sent out swiftly. The turnaround time to send out the replacement was two days and the shipping speed was priority. 1. Company backs up their warranty and replacement program. 2. Exceptional customer service. 3. High quality fabric + material, and very sturdy. 4. It does not feel like a flimsy duffel backpack or bag that you purchase from a sporting goods store. 5. Able to fit a basketball, shoes, clothes, large water bottle, and accessories such as a foam roller in the 45L version. I recommend a larger size if you want more space. 6. Great duffel bag or backpack conversion design. Use the strap as a duffel bag, or use the twin straps like a backpack (three straps total). All straps are removable and easy to store away inside the bag. 7. Understated, subtle look. 8. No big brand name logo plastered all over the bag. 9. Minimalistic look. 10. Excellent value. I'm very picky about sports gym bags. This one ticks all the boxes. It is heavy duty, durable, and has a high quality feel. It is water resistant has the company claims. The minimalistic look without brand name logos being placed all over the bag is a huge plus. Mierlife does stand by their product. They do care. A customer service team member reached out to me first before I even thought about doing so. And they were able to send out a replacement, quickly. Very kind and professional.
