This was a great purchase i believe. I read alot of bad reviews on these radios but after using them i am very satisfied with them. They have great range better than i expected. I mean your not going to get no 40 miles out of them like it says in heavily wooded or crowded city areas. But if you know anything about rf waives vegetation asorbs rf waives and the more obstructions there are the less range your going to get. Plus weather and atmospheric conditions have alot to do with it as well. The gmrs frs frequencies are in the uhf bandwith just above the 70 cm band. And for what they are they are great. Mind you their battery life is not that great i got about 6 to 7 hours out of them on high power with pretty consistant use on my hunting trip. It would be cool if they used lithium ion batteries instead of the ni cad. Also i did get my gmrs liscence through the fcc which from my understanding is the law altho alot of people dont. if caught you could be charged. But hey its 70 bucks for a 10 year liscence. Also covers your whole family for use. Midland has outstanding customer service as well I had a slight issue with the batteries and they just mailed me new ones which i recived in 2 days at no charge no questions asked basicaly. So these radios get two big thumbs up from me.

Awesome range. My hubby worked in the community that we live together and we keep in touch during our work ours mostly if we don't have electricity service.

Out of the box 1 radio fully charged. The second radio will not charge. Which would indicate a bad battery. I was looking forward to using these for deer season. I am updating this to say the radios did come to full charge. I was not patient enough.

radios are great. work very well, however the batter they come with does not last. i bought these radio for a hunting trip. battery didn’t last a weekend. because of the special battery you can not change it to regular AA batteries on the field. making them useless. i recommend model T75A that does use regular batteries that you can carry in your pack.

Radios worked fine. We bought them for western deer hunting, having a person up high glassing during stalks on flat ground. Unfortunately the ear piece has a lot of static noise while receiving. At normal voice level it's fine, but trying to be quiet it's too much to make out the voice.
