  • Good Solution for Minimal Setup
Style: Audio Dock
The Microsoft Audio dock is essentially a minimal variant to the Logi Dock. As a speakerphone, it has so-so mic quality. It’s passable, but not mind blowing. The audio quality is really good though! Music and movies sound decently detailed for the speaker size. The limitations come with port options, so make sure you know what you need. There is no Ethernet, and only one usb a and usb c inputs. The usb c cable that connects to the computer is 3ft long and attached. If you’re not needing lots of ports, this setup works great! It’s also very compact and makes a desk setup look clean. There is a Teams button to answer calls, play/pause, volume up/down, and a mute button. On Slack, the mute button does not show you’re muted on the software, but there is a red indicator on the dock to show you’re muted. Overall, I think this is a solid alternative to the Logi Dock, if you’re not needing lots of extra ports. It’s also about half the price! ... show more

  • Doesn't supply enough power....
Style: Audio Dock
Seems to work fine. Works great with Teams and I like the mute botton that works in conjunction with the mute icon in the app (iff you mute in the app, the mute button lights red and will take Teams out of mute mode with either the speaker button or the app icon). Only problem is that it supplies a charge that is weaker than the MICROSOFT SURFACE LAPTOP STUDIO that it was sold to support.... It charges slowly, but gives a warning the whole time. When I connect my second monitor to USB-C, it won't display at normal brightness because there isn't enough power... ... show more

  • It’s a dock, it’s a speakerphone…
Style: Audio Dock
And it’s very bulky. And if it wasn’t bulky enough it comes with a bulky barrel plug power brick. Why they couldn’t use the USB-C standard is beyond me. It’s intended use is as a permanent accessory on your desk - if you are an office nomad like me, this is useless.

  • High quality dock + speaker companion to Surface laptop
Style: Audio Dock
Now is very attractive price (USD 104) after citibank promotion, delivery to Hong Kong. Good sound quality under this size. No quality issue found so far. Highly recommended.

  • Great when it works
Style: Audio Dock
My first one quit completely after a week or so, but even when it was working it would occasionally drop the connection to the display. I returned it and the works well, but now it occasionally loses connection to the speaker and moves back to the computer audio. This is a surface pro 9 using Teams meetings with all of the latest drivers and updates. Not sure why with Microsoft software and hardware they cannot get this to work reliably. Threw my packaging away, so cannot return it. Will probably have to chalk it up to a learning experience. May try the Logitech dock, but not sure I want to drop 300 dollars for another gamble. :( ... show more

  • Audio drops while in teams calls
Style: Audio Dock
This was fine for the return period :/. Then it started dropping audio altogether. If I reselect the device while in a teams call, it starts working again. Going to try to return.

  • Stopped working after 4 months
Style: Audio Dock
I purchased the audio dock in January of 2023 and it has completely stopped working in early April 2023. I looked everywhere on the Microsoft webpage for support and cannot find a number to call.
