  • Worth MORE than Every Penny!!
Style: 13.8inch length
Update (5/13/22): So I came across this review and decided hey why not update!! Well it is about 1.5 years later and guess what, still working from home, still doing Twitch here and there, and most importantly STILL using this boom arm. I work 8 hours a day and this holds my mic through all of it. No issues, nothing has broke, and I still recommend. That's all. Original Review: So I do some Twitch streaming but mainly I am a work from home employee that does software training and taking virtual calls LITERALLY every single day for many hours. I had a Blue Yeti Blackout that I love BUT sitting it right in front of me on its normal stand was a pain and I couldnt get close enough without hunching over all day, but I didn't want to pay big $$ for a Boom. When I came across the Tonor T20 for sale for $19.99 I thought 1) This cant be any good and 2) Eh I get free 1 day shipping with my Prime and worst case I'm out $20. Now that I have it set up I cant believe it was only $20. To be clear this is the first Boom I've owned but it holds my Yeti, the shock mount, and I have a hanger for my G935's under my desk now (I had been shopping for a hanger for under my desk and just that was going to run me $10-$20) and does exactly what I wanted in much more expensive options. I did take a star off on adjustability because sometimes making small adjustments is a little tough but that is also due to me having everything tight to hold my Yeti secure so really cant fault the Boom for this. So whether you are a new Streamer, or work from home employ with a big mic, get this is you want a Boom that is secure and feature rich for the price. Honestly, Tonor the fact you are selling this for $20 right now is incredible!!! Alternative cost I had been looking at: Boom: $99.99 Hanger: $14.99 Pop Filter: $15.99 Total = $130.97 Got all the above with the T20 on sale for $19.99. That's all thank you for reading!! I will update if I come across any issues! ... show more

  • Perfect budget mic arm not without its downsides
Style: 13.8inch length
I use this with my Rode podmic. It works great for me and I’ve tried a bunch of other brands (Neewer etc) and this one is by far the best bang for your buck. I’ve even compared this to the PSA1 and although the PSA1 is a clear winner... this is a fraction of that price.... if you’re going budget, choose this one, seriously. I give it 4 stars only because of the lack of motion. Let me share my thoughts. Pros: -build quality is amazing, seriously. The feet is nice and heavy and the pentagonal design makes it sit very nice on a desk when clamped. Very sturdy -love the added headphones rack -comes with nice accessories and I love cable management ties!!! -also the screw adapter is nice if you have different kinds of mics Cons: -It doesn’t extend forward very well, unlike the blue compass or rode PSA1 which can be used opposite the speaker. This means you have to have a shallow desk. No problem for me.. but if you’re using a conference table, this might be a problem for you. -if you want to clamp it on the side of a desk, it works, but you definitely have to jimmy the arm around to get it to fit just right. Again, the major thing missing is the lack of forward extension and that hurts the performance of the stand -the turn knobs are plastic. Everything is metal, why couldn’t they make the knobs plastic? I sincerely wished it was because sometimes I feel I’m breaking it...no issues yet, but be careful ... show more

  • Weak clips
Style: 13.8inch length
The clips that hold the pin for the microphone mount in place are next to worthless and I could probably think of at least 10 better designs for accomplishing the task, which I did while struggling to reinsert the pin back into the stand when it randomly popped out. I've had no luck setting it back in place and reading other reviews has informed me that the clips just tend to bend out of shape after a week or so, making it impossible to get back in. The arm itself is pretty nice, it has a decent range of motion but is missing a few angles that would be nice to have. I contacted the company about the issue with the clips and they told me they would replace my product for free but that I'll need to wait two weeks for it to arrive. I'm quite honestly not looking forward to the replacement as I'm fairly certain the issue will arise again, but it's a nice gesture. I'll be looking for a new arm, this time spending an appropriate amount of money for something with better quality fasteners. Edit: My replacement arrived much quicker than the two week estimation, and I'm including photos to show the comparison of the clips on my first unit to my replacement unit. As you can see, the clips should be flush with each other to work properly, but the ones on my original unit were warped and did not last very long. The clips on the replacement unit sit flush with each other, but are still a concern to me. If the first clips can be warped that badly, then it's not impossible to think that the replacement clips will also warp over time. As I stated previously, there are so many other solutions to holding this pin in place that wouldn't have increased the price of the unit and would have increased the structural integrity of it at the same time. Another issue is that the screw that holds the clips together loosens very easily with even the slightest bit of movement from the pin, which of course leads to having to tighten the pins more often than you should have to (which will probably lead to warping the clips). This would also be solved by using a more effective fastening method. All-in-all, I'm impressed by the construction of the arm and desk clamp, but extremely disappointed in the integrity of the clips for the microphone pin. Edit 2: The replacement unit has held up well since I received it. The issue with the screws loosening is still there, but tightening all the screws every one to two weeks isn't a huge problem and it hasn't caused the clips to deform like the previous unit. They also sent me an email informing me of an updated model (the screw holding the clips together has been lengthened if I'm not mistaken) that they have offered to send to me. I'm not sure when it will arrive, but I'm interested to see what affect the longer screw has on the loosening issue. ... show more
