  • It Is Known That Michelin is the West-to-East, Not State-by-State Atlas
Some reviewers have unfairly and ignorantly blasted this publication for what is clearly user (buyer) error. On the cover, it is stated: "Flip-of-the-page navigation." For years, map buyers have known that Michelin has advertised their cartography as "maps for how you drive." compared to Rand McNally and National Geographic that organize their atlases state-by-state. When you drive east of Los Angeles on I-10, you don't drive from California to Colorado (state by alphabet), you drive from Los Angeles, CA to Phoenix, AZ: west-to-east maps makes navigation easier and more logical. There are three things that would make this publication a five-star winner: 1. Adding subtle shaded relief to show major topography. 2. Adding Eastern-US scaled maps (1:1,166,000) for other major population centers: S. & C. California; Colorado Front Range; Seattle-Vancouver area; Toronto-Montreal Corridor. 3. Improving Mexican coverage - the current scale is unhelpful. ... show more

  • Combining old with the new
Now a days know people rely on their GPS to get from point A to B. Road trips are different. An atlas lets you plot different paths, mile markers and exits. I used this atlas along with my car GPS. Reading a map is often a lost art; which all should learn!

  • Small county roads not there
Many of the smaller roads and county roads aren't there. The Atlas is serviceable I guess. But a bit of a disappointment otherwise.

  • Don't buy
Atlas not arranged by states alphabetical but by random cities?? Where there are full state pages it's very difficult to read. Stick with rand mcnally. Returned Atlas, lesson learned. Will have to use my old rand mcnally for trip I got this for.
