Small and compact it can fit in the trunk/glovebox/center console of your car, in a backpack or purse, or even your pocket if they are big enough. It's made of the same material as an emergency blanket, so not as warm as your cold weather sleeping bag, but warm enough to get you through a night or two in a pinch as long as you stay somewhere dry and out of the wind. The suddenness of the storm, which brought a rapid drop in temp along with pellet-sized hail, left us shivering under an outcropping.
