This is a fun, inexpensive fabric to use for costumes or dance wear. It is very pretty and iridescent. The material has a decent amount of two-way stretch to it. However, it is on the thin side, so not a fabric I would recommend for competition dancewear or an outfit with a lot of use and stress. Sewing slick knits is challenging but to make it go smoother you should use a sewing needle specifically for knits and a Teflon sewing foot.     • For pillows, this is great fabric.

I love the color of this and immediately wanted it to make pillows with it when I saw the listing. So, I can't comment on the stretch for use as a clothing item. It's a lightweight fabric with black backing. It's very soft, but also slick, like you'd expect. I got the silver holo and it's really pretty and interesting. The color flickers when tilting it toward and away from a light source are excellent, very subtle and pretty. I didn't need anything special sewing-wise on my usual machine. I used the same settings, foot, and needle as I usually use for the poly/cotton blend that I used on one side of the pillow to attach this piece to it. One thing to note is that folding over the edges is a pain in the butt. They don't fold crisply, but I already knew that would be the case for this type of fabric, as I've hemmed it before. Granted, this doesn't absolutely need hemming for the pillow, but I like to fold over the edges on both pieces when I sew them, as a doubled inside edge, instead of just sewing straight down both edges a quarter inch in. I like to fold, put them together, then sew. I'm a cautious sewer and not super skilled, so I feel like that makes them 'safer' from unraveling or pulling apart. So, that's my experience with this. Even though it did take a bit longer and I couldn't just iron this side flat like I could with the cotton/poly side and trust it to stay flat, it didn't take an excessive amount of time to make my first pillow. The fabric is very soft, and the front side of the pillow is a subdued color. Flipping it over shows the holo side, which is a cute surprise, I think. I'd buy again. This is great material. I didn't have any issues with the material fraying or have damaged spots. The material is heavier than I expected but that worked well for me. It worked great as a tablecloth in my office. It does have a lot stretch to it and I can see where it would work great for dance outfits, etc. The metallic, holographic look is fantastic. It shines even when the light isn't directly on it. When the light is on it, it looks amazing. I'd highly recommend this. ... show more
