Very solid and sturdy. Easy to put together. Nice wide and deep shelves to hold a lot. You can adjust the height of the shelves depending what you want to stack on each shelf. Love this shelf and I may get another for my garage.

We love these shelves. First the shelves arrived on time, and perfectly packaged. The assembly process was easy, but I would recommend that it is a two person process. The painted finish is great. And the components were sufficiently wrapped to prevent scratching of the painted finish. In the fully assembled state, the unit is rigid and quite strong. The solid shelves are so much better than the typical wire shelves. The shelves can be placed at various heights to accommodate bins and flat items. There are two clips provided to enable the unit to be secured to a wall to prevent tipping. However, you will need washers to prevent the screw heads from pulling through the holes in the brackets. The shelves are designed to last a long time.

I ended up using these shelves as a makeshift workbench. I cut a piece of plywood and screwed it in and it works great. the metal is pretty thin so it will accept tapping screws pretty easily, however the desk is really stable. honestly the value is really great for what I was using it for. it wouldn't hold an engine, but as a decent parts shelf at the price, it's a lot better deal than a big box store shelf.

I don't normally write reviews (good or bad), but I felt so compelled after waiting for this and feeling the amount of disappointment in this product. This is the flimsiest speed rack system I have ever experienced. I didn't even finish the first level, and I took it back apart and threw it all in my trash. I'm not even going to return this in fear of them turning this back around and reselling it to someone. Not going to ask for refund either as it's not worth the effort to box it back up and take to the UPS store in my opinion. Just chuck it and write it up to my bad judgement. Flimsy material, connectors at corners don't fit into place and slide into the channels, shelfs give under light weight, the mallet they provide broke at the head, and the price is waaaaaay too much for this product now that I see it up close. I could have bought a real one down the street from Home Depot for slightly more and I'm seriously mad at myself from not doing that since I already have two of those in my storage shed and they're fantastic. Not sure why this got good reviews, but I'm telling you...not worth the money.

Preamble warning, skip to the next paragraph for the meat and potatoes. When it comes to shelving units, basically you have those labeled heavy duty and those without any label. I have some heavy duty shelves I bought for double this price from a big box store, that I I simply do not even need to think about how much weight is on any given shelf or on the entire unit (it's rated for 2500 pounds per shelf. That is what I think of when I think heavy duty. On the other hand, I also had a plastic shelving unit I had bought to store 12 packs of beverages, random stuff like tackle boxes, spray paint cans, etc. Over the years the shelves on that unit have started to sag and I was ready to upgrade to something a bit sturdier, but easy on the wallet. When first opening the box I had some mixed feelings. The thickness and feel of the metal parts is what I was hoping for, the plastic pieces that align the top and bottom halves made me wonder how much of a pain it would be to return this, but I figured I'd reserve judgement until it was fully assembled. If you've ever put together a shelf, Ikea furniture, any Lego set, or if you instinctively grabbed your favorite rubber mallet before opening the box you'll find this is about as easy as it comes in terms of assembly. I got the whole thing together in about 20 minutes by myself. The shelves themselves have some flex when torsion force is applied, but the way the shelf sits recessed in the horizontal supports makes that a non issue. The shelves are reinforced on the bottom, one of mine had some pretty ugly welds but I didn't buy the unit because it looks nice. The fences are easily adjustable and especially useful for items that roll (like 5 gallon water jugs). The middle shelf is what is preventing shear force from causing the top to fall off, it rests in the bottom holes of the top unit and the top holes of the bottom unit. When all 4 horizontal pieces and the middle shelf is in, you'll have a much better feeling on the stability of the unit. Attaching to the wall into studs/mason block is highly recommended. Overall I'm pretty happy with my purchase. I needed these exact dimensions and because I'm in humid Florida I couldn't do MDF/particle board shelves that would deteriorate over time. I wouldn't test the alleged 3000 max load, but putting a couple hundred pounds on the bottom shelves doesn't feel like I'm testing fate. My box came with extra plastic pieces so you could potentially have a 2 shelf and 3 shelf side by side unit with this kit, it also came with extra plastic pieces to potentially add a third unit on top of the second but that would be absolutely sketchy and I could only see that ending in a hospital/funeral home trip when it fails. I'm only giving 4 out of 5 stars because the pictures used for this listing are a hot mess of bad photoshopping, misrepresent the product, and show a configuration which would absolutely result in injury. I've included a photo of actual items on the shelf to better represent what you're getting.
