  • Does not mar wood - great gun
Size: NT1850DFT Style: NT1850DFT
Love this brad nailer. I am fed up with my dewalt 18 ga brad nailer - i thru it in the trash. The nose safety is so much better. Does not mar the wood. No jambed nails. And does not have to wind up like the dewalt. And the metabo is very light weight. - the new version!!

  • Good performance out of the box.
Size: NT1850DFT Style: NT1850DFT
Initial impressions are very good. I received it today and I charged the battery which took about a half an hour at most and then I did a couple of tests nailing. The results were very good with 1 inch nails into some plywood. You need to remember to press the on button to power up. For those who may be interested, the charger only works on 110 V 60 Hz. I was hoping it would be dual voltage so I could use it in Europe. I was not able to find information about this online so that’s why I am mentioning it here in case someone else has the same question. I don’t expect it to be hard to find a replacement charger for this in Europe anyway. This is my first Metabo but I did have a nailer pneumatic that I was very pleased with and which also gets very good reviews. So I expect this to be just as good. I plan to update this review once I’ve used this a bit more extensively. I’m looking forward to not having to pull out the compressor every time I need to do a couple nails. Although it is a bit heavier than the pneumatic gun that I have, I won’t be using this one all day long, so I don’t think the weight will matter at all. ... show more

  • Forget the compressor and hose!!!
I have been a finish carpenter for over 15 years and I have used many different nail guns to decipher which one is best to use while doing finish work. I used the Dewalt 18gauge brad nailer and loved it. I decided to purchase this Metabo HPT 18v brad nailer after researching all the brands on the market today. I was a little hesitant with it only being 18v instead of a 20v like the Dewalt I had been using. I am not able to tell much of a difference from the 20v dewalt and the 18v Metabo I will give you my pros and cons for this Metabo HPT 18v brad nailer. Pros: - The lightweight design allows you to nail and nail without getting your forearm sore - The light is always on which makes it convenient to see where you are shooting, especially in closets that don't have lights - The battery lasts a lot longer than I had expected. It has an auto shutoff if you don't use it for a period of time. - When I first purchased the gun, I had nails not set. Now that I understand how to use the gun, (Pull the trigger and then push the gun) the nails set every time. - The left side of the gun gives you very low clearance, the right side is a little bulkier so you can't get as close in the corners. (In those cases, I just flip the gun upside down) - I like the carry bag it comes with to carry the gun, charger and batter with ease. - When the battery is getting low, there is a low battery indicator on the gun that flashes red. - The brushless motor is quiet and very powerful Cons: - The actual battery does not have an indicator telling the battery level like the DeWalt or other lithium ion batteries do. (But the red light on the gun will flash when the battery is getting low) ... show more

  • Best Metabo HPT Product I've Used - Poor Customer Service
Size: NT1850DFT Style: NT1850DFT
Purchased this tool based on high marks from the major Woodworking publications and it hasn't disappointed. I won't do a full pro/con as I don't have anything negative to say about the product. I used to for a full board and batten project and it performed perfectly on all sizes of wood trim and angles. Easy to adjust depth with plenty of power. Battery life was very good too. I have had problems with Metabo HPT's customer service, so I feel compelled to share that as part of the review in the event someone is looking to get into their line. I purchased many of their tools based on how impressed I was and still am with the brad nailer. However, based on multiple poor experiences with their customer support, I have returned several unused tools I had purchased to start a project. I wanted to go all Team Green and have one battery platform, but it's not worth the frustration for me. Overall, great brad nailer and I would recommend it despite my issues with their service. The other products weren't strong enough in my opinion so I'll go to more than one battery platform for other tools. ... show more

  • Very nice brad nailer
Size: NT1850DFT Style: NT1850DFT
Metabo makes a good product. I have several other Metabo cordless tools. This brad nailer works great, it's lightweight and has all the power I need from a nailer. The battery life is very good, the gun has a nice design to it and is very easy to use. Good value for you money too.

  • Solid nailer

Great nail gun, easy to use adjustments. It's nice that you can set for use as bump fire or sequential. Light weight and pretty compact. Can't really think of any drawbacks.

  • don't let yourself be robbed
Size: NT1850DFT Style: NT1850DFT
I want to tell you that this gun broke down but I put an insurance coverage on it for three years and a year before the insurance coverage ended I called them because the gun was no longer useful and I wanted to see the coverage that they had for the gun and they told me that they would give me the manufacturer's number because the warranty was not over yet and that they were not responsible and I called Amazon and they did not want to help me either. The lady only told me that she was very sorry and that they could not do anything and I told them why do these companies steal from people and the lady only gave the name of the insurance.asurion, ... show more
