  • Solid nailer
Size: NT1850DFT Style: NT1850DFT
Great nail gun, easy to use adjustments. It's nice that you can set for use as bump fire or sequential. Light weight and pretty compact. Can't really think of any drawbacks.

  • Great Tool

this gun is excellent. Bought it for my wainscoting project at home. Plenty powerful, never jams, charges fast and holds the charge a long time. Perfect for my needs

  • Highly recommended

This is just a first impressions review. I can come back later after more use on field. I am a full-time carpenter that has used dewalt cordless, Milwaukee as well as ryobi. I have never owned these but my old bosses and coworkers did. When doing a lot of reading/research I decided I wanted to try these metabo ones out even though I've never seen them on the field. My first impression of the 18 gauge couldn't be better really. It is the lightest weight nailer (by far) and it packs the same punch as the Milwaukee with near instant response time. I used dewalts and Milwaukees quite a bit. I would never personally by the dewalts for myself and I run all dewalt cordless tools. I would go for the Milwaukee but the price point is a bit much. I got this kit on sale for $200 and I would pay the full $270 price all day for it. Even at full price it is cheaper than just a bare tool Milwaukee. This allowed me to get everything I needed to operate while not being on the metabo platform. This gun shoots quick and hard. It'll sink whatever you need to sink. The only time I saw nails heads ever so slightly proud was rapidly bump firing which isn't how the gun is used realistically anyways. Besides it's satisfying ability to shoot nails I think what i like the most is actually how small light it is. This 2nd Gen version was apparently cut down in size by 30% and is easily the smallest gun I've used. A lot of finish work is above your head (crown, casing) and using it doesn't wear you out like others do. It also has a very bright LED which is quite nice. The only gripe I have right now is that the battery itself doesn't have a battery life indicator on it and the guns indicator is only 2 lights which is fairly useless. My mind could change but as of right now for the 18 gauge I prefer this over all the others and its what I'd buy again. ... show more

Works great! Battery is awesome. Speed of nailing is fast. Not to heavy and balanced well. Not loud. Turning on and off is a bit of a pain, button could be bigger. Would certainly recommend!!! Just hit the "buy now" button already!!!

  • Best Metabo HPT Product I've Used - Poor Customer Service
Size: NT1850DFT Style: NT1850DFT
Purchased this tool based on high marks from the major Woodworking publications and it hasn't disappointed. I won't do a full pro/con as I don't have anything negative to say about the product. I used to for a full board and batten project and it performed perfectly on all sizes of wood trim and angles. Easy to adjust depth with plenty of power. Battery life was very good too. I have had problems with Metabo HPT's customer service, so I feel compelled to share that as part of the review in the event someone is looking to get into their line. I purchased many of their tools based on how impressed I was and still am with the brad nailer. However, based on multiple poor experiences with their customer support, I have returned several unused tools I had purchased to start a project. I wanted to go all Team Green and have one battery platform, but it's not worth the frustration for me. Overall, great brad nailer and I would recommend it despite my issues with their service. The other products weren't strong enough in my opinion so I'll go to more than one battery platform for other tools. ... show more

I like the eighteen gauge because it's not as invasive of a hole. I do wood floors everyday and I use this tool. Everyday battery life is decent. No jams works well penetrates all different, soft and hard woods effectively.

I want to tell you that this gun broke down but I put an insurance coverage on it for three years and a year before the insurance coverage ended I called them because the gun was no longer useful and I wanted to see the coverage that they had for the gun and they told me that they would give me the manufacturer's number because the warranty was not over yet and that they were not responsible and I called Amazon and they did not want to help me either. The lady only told me that she was very sorry and that they could not do anything and I told them why do these companies steal from people and the lady only gave the name of the insurance.asurion, ... show more

  • Forget the compressor and hose!!!
Size: NT1850DF Style: NT1850DF
I have been a finish carpenter for over 15 years and I have used many different nail guns to decipher which one is best to use while doing finish work. I used the Dewalt 18gauge brad nailer and loved it. I decided to purchase this Metabo HPT 18v brad nailer after researching all the brands on the market today. I was a little hesitant with it only being 18v instead of a 20v like the Dewalt I had been using. I am not able to tell much of a difference from the 20v dewalt and the 18v Metabo I will give you my pros and cons for this Metabo HPT 18v brad nailer. Pros: - The lightweight design allows you to nail and nail without getting your forearm sore - The light is always on which makes it convenient to see where you are shooting, especially in closets that don't have lights - The battery lasts a lot longer than I had expected. It has an auto shutoff if you don't use it for a period of time. - When I first purchased the gun, I had nails not set. Now that I understand how to use the gun, (Pull the trigger and then push the gun) the nails set every time. - The left side of the gun gives you very low clearance, the right side is a little bulkier so you can't get as close in the corners. (In those cases, I just flip the gun upside down) - I like the carry bag it comes with to carry the gun, charger and batter with ease. - When the battery is getting low, there is a low battery indicator on the gun that flashes red. - The brushless motor is quiet and very powerful Cons: - The actual battery does not have an indicator telling the battery level like the DeWalt or other lithium ion batteries do. (But the red light on the gun will flash when the battery is getting low) ... show more
