I still have an old pair of Hitachi drill and impact combo that work great. They are at least 15 years old with hours and hours of use. I decided to expand my drill collection for convenience. Since I already have the old hitachi drills and multiple batteries and chargers it only made sense to try these metabo drills out. I am glad I did. The updated drills are more powerful than my old set. The batteries and chargers are interchangeable since hitachi is the same as metabo. These are good quality. I'm no contractor but I do a lot of home projects and small builds. These drills are perfect for those needs. No need to buy the way more expensive yellow or red brands unless you need them for heavy daily use. ... show more

Love the combo. Nice grip, not too heavy and lots of torque with little kick. They work great for both small and large projects. From mounting TV's to building furniture, the tools performed well at all times and I’ve always had a charged battery. The first set I got, the drill chuck was broken and would not hold a bit. Metabo warranty department said to send it back to Amazon which I did. I hope I just got unlucky and something was wrong from the factory with chuck because I really like this drill/driver so far. I have been a big DeWalt guy for years but after seeing a bunch of pros using Metabo and needing another drill and driver I decided to make the switch. Most of the reviews for this set were Vine reviews for a free product which have always seemed to be biased so I thought I'd write one that is not to maybe help out others. The first thing I noticed was the weight, they are heavier than my Dewalts but very well balanced and I personally prefer a heavier tool because they seem more durable (in my mind anyways). The second is the torque, just holding these and pulling the trigger you can see them torque in your hand even with a pretty good grip on them. I did a side by side test with my DeWalt XR impact vs the Metabo driving a 3 inch screw into a stack of 2x4's and the Metabo was almost twice as fast as the DeWalt. The DeWalt has a lot more miles on it though, it's 6 years old and has been through countless projects. Still for $130 I'm impressed. I really like the compact design, they get into places that My Dewalts wouldn't. The drill is even shorter that my DeWalt Atomic. My only worry is long term durability with these, I plan on using them mainly for building cabinets and custom furniture. I'm not a heavy duty user by any means but definitely more than an average homeowner/DIY. ... show more

I had been thinking about getting a new cordless drill/driver set for awhile. Then i saw this set on sale for $96.00 and got it. Metabo is actually Hitachi Power tools which I think are one of the best on the market. I used a hitachi 10" slide saw for 30 years doing flooring and it never had any problems. Other hitachi tools i have used have always been of very good quality so i didn't have any second thoughts about this purchase. Comes with a drill driver, impact driver, two 18volt 2 amp batteries, a battery charger and a storage bag. And by the way they both work great! ... show more

I purchased this set to upgrade my cordless drill and impact driver. These tools are much smaller and lighter than my old Craftsman tools, without any loss of power. The smaller size makes easier to access tight spaces.
