I needed work shoes, and I had gotten the Alverstone Merrells about a year ago and loved them, and they had gotten ruined by a dog, so went out searching in hopes to find the same pair but perhaps a different color because of how light colored my last ones were. Running into these being $20 more than my old ones, I decided to take the jump and buy them. As soon as I opened the package you could tell they were brand new, and absolutely took my breath away. Trying them on, they actually felt better than my old ones, with better back and heel support (I have high arches). I was shocked that $20 extra got me an entirely whole new shoe and I absolutely believe this was worth every penny. I wrote this review since nobody posted the picture of the “Espresso” color. Absolutely gorgeous.

I am quite a fan of Merrell hiking shoes and have had several pairs. I regularly buy wide, but they did not have in this model. Initially, I found them small, and thought that compared to another of my Merrell (wide) hiking shoes of the same size, they were small and tight. However, after 1 week of use, they feel perfectly comfortable in a snug way, but not tight. I find them very cool, and will definitely continue buying Merrell walking/hiking shoes!

I have loved all if my previous Merrill hiking shoes. They do take sone time to break in, but THIS model just isn’t getting worn. I like my hiking shoes tight to my foot. Something about where the bow, on the laces sits, does not make my foot feel supported. The foot bed is also not cushy, and it feels like I’m wearing Geisha shoes, as far as comfort…not good. Hard as a rock, yet lightweight, if that’s what you’re going for.

I started walking last year i have lost 85lb so far I am on. My second pair i have tried other brands which were fine but they did not fit my feet as well and give me such support as my Merrills so thank you you saved my life

I had tried on a pair of this model in a store, in size 8 (I usually wear an 8.5). It fit incredibly well all over, super comfy, except for being just a little small. The store didn’t have an 8.5. I was so happy to find this pair on Amazon. But it didn’t fit the same at all. Tight across the toes (though the ball of the foot area was wide enough—unusual for me as I have tailor’s bunions). The arch was way too far back—it was actually closer to my heel than my arch, so a quite uncomfortable lump at the front of my heel, and no arch support. It was the weirdest-fitting shoe I think I’ve ever tried on. Big disappointment. The one in the store a half-size larger would have been the most perfect fit ever. Both were Siren Sport 3 model. I’ll never try a mail ordered Merrell again. Do not understand why it was SO different from the same shoe only 1/2 size smaller. Strange.

They run somewhat small. But still can wear them. Will order 1/2 size larger next time.

I usually wear a 9.5 but after reading reviews, I ordered a 10. That was a good thing. I need that length. The color of the shoe was perfect but there is no cushioning in the shoe even after I used a gel insert. Just too hard.
