  • Hardy and well crafted.
Size: 9 Color: Smoke
I've been testing these since 2019. They are near indestructible. No rips, wear spots, or mishaps encountered. Excellent knobby tread that has superb traction. In fact, these shoes have the best traction out of any pair of shoes I've ever owned. They are fairly thin soles, and I can 'feel the terrain' through them- while still being very stiff and protective. Seeing as they are a hiking shoe, I feel this is important to note. Arch support is respectable, and i have also noticed there is excellent protection from the foot rocking inward. The shoes have held their shape excellent and never required a break in period. My boyfriend wears them occasionally and they fit him great too. He can't feel any sort of impression where my feet naturally sit in the shoe. They are just as comfortable to him as they are to me. I wear these on hikes but also wear them to work occasionally as they breathe excellent. Whereas- my work boots do not. They are not meant for standing on concrete all day, and i find my feet a little extra sensitive by the days end. I also have very sweaty feet and my shoes tend to develop odor quickly. I was surprised at how resistant these have been to smell and have washed them a handful of times to assist with that. I only fault these shoes for a modest toe box. I have average width feet, however as a 'hiker shoe' I wish these allowed my toes to fully expand when flexed. Im not crowded in them per say, but I wish a wide width was available. I do overall enjoy them and would recommend! True to size, and I almost never get it right the first try! ... show more

  • Love these!
Size: 10 Color: Granite
Bought these shoes for a trip to the Grand Canyon. I wore them around a little to break them in but they didn't need it. They fit/felt great from the beginning. I bought 1.5 sizes up. I usually wear a 9.5 in women's shoes. I bought an 11. The 10 and 10.5 was too close and didn't give me enough room for my toes to spread out. I didn't want any pain or pressure during our hike. I spent the whole day on my feet walking/hiking the Grand Canyon and my feet never got tired or painful. My husband bought some too and his feet felt fine afterwards too. Definitely recommend! Tip: I made sure to buy some supportive Coolmax Cotton socks too. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4NVLXN?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details ... show more

  • I have 3 other pair of size 8 Merrell Moab, but this size 8 was too short.
Size: 8 Color: Castlerock
I love the look and feel of the Moab by Merrell. The only two things I would change would be to make the heel lining out of smooth leather or some other durable, quality material as they always shred quickly when wearing them where your sock heel makes contact with the back of the inside of the shoe. Many years ago, I had some hiking boots, brand unknown, that were not made of padded fabric and did not wear out like these do. Also, I would make the laces flat instead of rounded so they would stay tied without having to double knot. Still, a really nice looking shoe, even with its few flaws. Also comfortable (when you get the size that fits you). I am not sure why this last pair was too short but I'll try again. Another great feature is the insoles are removable so you can insert your own orthotics if you have them! ... show more

  • Buy these for $75 or buy the Waterproof for $125??
Size: 8.5 Wide Color: Smoke
Why do these, the Vent, look exactly like the waterproof ones, but are $50 cheaper? I did the market research. Comparing these : Merrell Women's Moab 2 Vent Hiking Shoe (Smoke) to the Merrell Women's Moab 2 Waterproof hiking shoe (Drizzle Mint) I use these A LOT. I bought the waterproof ones and loved them, wore them out. In May 2022, I bought these cheaper ones, the Vent, to see how they compared to the more expensive waterproof ones. Same size, 8.5W. In August 2022, I saw the waterproof ones for $93, so I bought a new pair. SPOILER: BECAUSE I PREFER THE WATERPROOF ONES. 1. Out of the box, I wanted to, but I didn't like these, the Vent, as much. The shoe is longer and the toebox was very roomy. They felt too big, but still comfortable, even brand new. Almost returned them, but started wearing them instead. I wear them now, and I really like them. I wear it like a roomy shoe, slip on and off. 2. Somehow, the Vent's sole support is just different. Maybe it's mental, but the more expensive waterproof ones felt more expensive. 3. Over time (3 months, daily use), even though the Vent felt too big at first, they started to mold more and almost seem to shrink to my foot. I noticed that the waterproof ones also do this. 4. Visually, I cannot see the difference between these two shoes, but the Vents were bigger and seemed a little less supportive. I shellacked my non-waterproof Vents from every angle with waterproofing spray from a can. In tall wet grass, they seep at the seams anyway, but water beads off on the surfaces. Verdict: damp sock. Personally, the waterproof ones have been waterproof for me, despite what many reviewers have said. I've stepped in the creek (not fully submerged) with the waterproof ones and had dry sock. Advice: if you don't have the extra $50, don't sweat it, order the Vents, but personally I would have ordered them a half size down. Overall though, despite the higher price, I do like the waterproof ones better. ... show more

  • Good hikers.
Size: 6 Color: Smoke
I have very narrow feet, but with a thick sock these fit great, wore on a fishing trip to Alaska and they performed well. Next time out with them will be on African safari where I’ll be doing lots of walking. Merrill makes a great shoe that is easy to put on.

  • My favorite pair of work shoes for a delivery person
Size: 10 Color: Brindle
These hold up way better than sneakers and offer great support. The soles are made of harder material than most similar shoes and therefore last longer for people that are on their feet all day. I love them so much, I ordered 3 pairs total so far, so that I'll have more when these finally wear out.

  • Laces are not good
Size: 7 Wide Color: Aluminum/Marlin
Still trying to tread these in as they are on the heavy side. Had for a month and still find i cant wear them all day Big complaint is the laces will not stay fastened so always re tying them. May have to get different laces.
