I ordered the Alverstone in 2 sizes, and got an OK fit with the smaller size. It is a handsome shoe, like Merrells usually are. I was looking for an indoor-outdoor shoe for the fall and winter in NC, not so much a hiking shoe. This would have been fine, but I liked the Siren Sport 3 better for that. I love them so much and I am used to wearing Merrel, Dansko and Keen shoes and boots but these are outstanding in comfort and for hiking on rocks around creeks they have a great grip- the grip goes up around the sides that helps a lot when climbing up rougher trails. Nicely constructed hiking shoe and length was ok. It the heels are so wide that my foot kept slipping out of the back which I know would cause blisters. I returned them.
